Warden
I picked up 2-3 MPG after my Wheatly tune. When I first got my truck I ran nothing but 91 octane.I later tried 94,but no increase in MPG.Up here in Canada gas can get as high as 5.50 per gallon. One day my GF put 87 octane in the SS.She didn't want to spend $135 for a full tank so she put in $60.While I was driving the truck back to fill it up with 94 I thought I would give it a lite shot to see how bad it would ping.I was shocked.0 ping. That's with a Tune! I still run 91.I was also shocked to read the owners manual. It says it's ok to run regular.

donaldsharpeusaf
My truck doesn't run well on 89 or 87 octane. It gets much worse gas milage on it, too. I have never put anything but high test in it, but other people have borrowed my truck and put regular in it. The increase in mileage more than pays the price difference. I thought that you had to put at least 92 in it because of the high compression?
