zpaucoin
On my way home today I noticed an '06 or '07 classic Silverado crew cab in my rear view. It looked like it had a stock grill but the honeycomb was chrome. As he came around me on the side I could see he had some nice chrome 20" wheels, 4 wheel disc with red calipers all the way around, chrome handles (just the pull part), and these little red badges on the tailgate and doors that said ssX. I wanna say on the other side of the tailgate it said street styles or something. So all these parts could be aftermarket and fake badges for all I know, just wondering if this is some OEM package that was available at some point or what. I live in New Orleans, if that helps. The truck looked surprisingly tasteful. I was gonna run him just for the hell of it but I was getting off at my exit. Sorry for the poor quality photo, iPhone zoom and driving. 2001silverado364
Only sport conversions I know of are joe gibbs and regency rst. That truck definitely does not look like a professional conversion from that pic. You really should've ran it, I bet it has a stock 5.3, unless of course it was a vho or v-max. f1ss
When i was getting some service done to my truck at the dealership in late 06, I saw a truck with SS badges but it wasnt an SS. I asked the owner what was up with the badges. My grandfather had bought cars from for over 40 years, so I could trust him. He said it was a non SS truck, and "that truck has nothing on yours, its a super street truck (or street sport truck)." I think it was just an optional badging the dealership did. But it didnt have the red X on it....The package he spoke of just had some optional chrome 20s, the gmpp (Borla) exhaust and intake.
kissfans03ss
I have been seeing this 03/04 silversdo for the past few years that sounds like what your describing, its forest green with chrome wheels and aftermarket exhaust and instead of badging on the doors there is an outline of either ssp or sat and under that I think it said super sport truck Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
f1ss
^^^^I have seen a couple trucks with the stickers for SSC, could be the same type deal. But this super street/sport street truck is like Its Chevrolet's make/copy of the GMC Pro Sport in a way, comes with extra goodies normal Z-71s or w/t's, LS/LT packages dont have. zpaucoin
Yeah the weird thing about this truck was the accessories looked too aftermarket to be OEM, yet not over the top enough to make it look like random accessories as in it did look to be some kind of appearance package. Plus, the SS letters were not in the SSS font, so the badges looked aftermarket, but the placement and leveling looked factory. Weird. Sorry I couldnt get better pics, like I said it was a pretty clean looking truck with the red calipers and all. Didn't 06 and 07 classic have rear drum or did crew cab get disc? I thought they got drums, but I could be wrong... I've see that logo before too but don't know where, I tried looking it up but couldn't find anything
kissfans03ss
The badging on than white truck is dead on except for placement and the truck I saw was an ex.cab which looked level so it could have been dropped, also had what looked like aftermarket goodies but I think it came stock on the truck.
