2001silverado364
What'd you use to stencil it? I did the same thing once only with my fuse box cover. Printed of a bowtie form the net and cut it out for the stencil. Mine turned out much worse than yours though.

JF-03-SS
As for my welding here you go Jeff. Overhead MIG alum How are your test plates set-up? 3/8" plates, double bevel, open root or backing strip?
feece08
3/8 plate backing plate with 1/4 inch root gap If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks, than it needed to be fixed anyways...
Cramer
Good looks good. Although the pics on my phone aren't to good, I can tell that you need to tie the plates in with a little more pause from side to side. And keep the pause and go count a little longer to the next "dime".
feece08
I wasn't going side to side. Basically doing overlays on top of the root. Then grinding to 1/8th on top and thriving her in the xray.. If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks, than it needed to be fixed anyways... feece08
Correction 1/8 inch root...its set up the same as aws circ's. If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks, than it needed to be fixed anyways...
