dounome
I want to take my calipers off and remove the guts to throw them in a acid dip tank and then smooth them out. Does anyone know how tuff it is to remove the guts out of the caliper?
BenKey
Not that hard. Once you unhook the lines, compressed air will separate them. Shoot the air into the brake line hole. You'll need new seals, of course, to put back.
dounome
Thanks, I guess I will just have to pay for a few seals and be on my way to shiny new units.
XGMTech
And you'll need a T-55 Torx bit socket to get the calipers off... not a size everyone has laying around. (I had to go find one when I painted my calipers... don't bother looking at Sears, they don't carry that size. Try an auto parts store).
BenKey
You're right about the T-55. I odered a set through Sears online. Comes in, I think a 8-piece set that includes a T-55 and goes up to T-60.
LSR Mike
Harbor Freight, they also have them in the security model (with the hole in the middle).
