Miller812
Well my dad had an 03 duramax with 70k on it and there is a chunking noise that comes from the drivers side front tire. When turning right the noise and clunk go away but turning left it still does it. Changed the front diff fluid. It was pretty low and was very metalicky. Noise didn't get any better or anything. the cv boot looks good. No cuts or leaking our anything like that. Any ideas wat it could be? BlueAKSSS
First thing that came to my mind was CV but since you say its good maybe its like the wheel bearing on that side going bad?
Miller812
Could the cv be bad even if it looks ok? I also thought wheel bearing but wouldn't the tire have movement when up in the air? Sent From My Droid X on Vortex
03BlkSS86
It sounds like a wheel bearing. does it sound less "chuncky " when you move the wheel to the right a bit like taking a slight right turn? if it does then its a wheel bearing. I just replaced mine this weekend. Making a similar chuncking noise.
zippy
I would check inner tie rods, ball joints, and stabilizer shaft end links.

2001silverado364
Yep, I've had both of mine replaced and so have all my friends with silverados. Not sure why they don't hold up.
Miller812
is there any use for the old bearing assembly?
2001silverado364
Maybe the abs sensor in it, but that usually gets scraped up when the bearing goes bad.
Miller812
Ok. It just seems like a waste to me. I thought they would have used it for a core but nope. Sent From My Droid X on Vortex
