cscottamos
Wanting to get some tires for some minor off roading, but also just to make the appearance a bit more rugged looking. So I will need them to be functional, as I have a 2WD. (Not going to be anything intense - just some hills and rocks here and there) I probably won't really encounter a whole lot of mud - it will mostly be dry, but just to be safe, I want to leave the mud terrain tires as an option. Of the 2 below, what do you guys think I should go with? I would go with 17" rims for either option - I think they are both pretty mean looking. 2001silverado364
I like the second ones, my friend has the first ones on his 2005 1500 and they don't grip well at all on wet pavement or mud. But they are pretty good in the sand.
MARTYW
I had both on my Avalanche and I prefer the Mud T/A's. They definitely performed better. The All Terrains may be a "touch" smoother and a "touch" quieter, but the Mud T/A's do a great job. They will last too as long as you rotate them every 6K or so. I got over 40K out of them. My A/T's lasted well too, but i sold the Ava before I wore them out. Mine were 35/12.50-17.
cscottamos
Awesome. I will probably go with the Mud ones. That's kind of what I was leaning towards in the first place. I just need a good set of 17" rims too. I really like the look of DGIEPSS's old Sierra here. It's a good classic rugged look I think. MARTYW
Here is a pic of my avalanche with the Mud T/A's on it. I had the 17" Weld Cheyennes on it.

2001silverado364
Paint those rims gloss black and I think it would look good. Otherwise those rims are crap, IMO.

Yeah, they look pretty cheap. The z71's aren't bad: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/pts/2764433290.html
