1slow6.0
When your normal driving the engine is sucking ( vacuum ) the you go into wot the engine gives a blowing effect ( boost) that's how the gauge reads only if your boosted in a way, turbo or charged if you have it on a n/a motor there is no boost for it to read
silverado_ss_04
where do you have it hooked up?
chpspecial
By having your motor go into boost.... Jk Is this an electrical gauge or mechanical. sent from my thunderbolt
zippy
How does it read boost? When the air in the intake manifold becomes a pressure that is higher than barometric the pressure will move from the intake manifold to the hose and up to the guage. If the guage is working correctly it will show boost.
ocelot729
Hate to bring a topic back up, I'm about to put one on, a Autometer Ultra Lite II Boost/Vac gauge that's mechanical, where did you hook it up at on the manifold?? I mean, where's the best place to tie it into for a good accurate reading?? ocelot729
nevermind, I hooked it up to a line on the back of the intake, theres a brass fitting and a tube with a rubber cap off on it, I ran it to the capped off tube.
