mgraves
My heated seat stopped working, it will turn on briefly then i hear a "click" and it shuts off. Any idea on cost to replace the elements or is that even what it is?
harriss
my seat turns on and right back off. Here is a guide to test the heating element. http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/Bluegorilla/2009-11-12_172546_GMT_800_heated_seat_drivers_diagnose.pdf here is a guide to toubleshoot wiring (it is for buick lasaber though). It may be the same and it wil give you a general idea on what to test. Ill look for a silverdo guide. http://en.allexperts.com/q/GMC-Repair-813/Heated-seat-failure-01.htm
scrapinby
My seatback element was burned out and did the exact same thing. I've read that it's usually the seatback. It's pretty easy to check. All you have to do is put the seat all the way forward, and at the bottom of the seatback there is a two plastic channels that are locked together. Jam a small screwdriver and seperate the channels. Once that's done, move the seat in a position that works for you and slide the cover up as much as you can. It has velcro on the inside of the cover. After you've done that, pull the element out. It will be taped in there, but it's not a big deal. You'll be able to tell if it's burned out. This is what my element looked like. I ordered this part to replace it. I think I found a $5 off coupon. http://www.partstrai...ch&Ntt=RB641106&= It was about a 15 minute repair. BlueAKSSS
I have this exact same problem and I believe I have the burned out seatback element as well. Glad this was posted, now I'm going to test the resistance of mine with that link harris posted. Thanks!
