juriha
Well I put the tax refund to good use and purchased a very lightly used Kenne Bell 2.2L Twin screw SC. It looks mint from the pictures, and everything should be showing up this week. I have done some searching here, and on PT dot net with very limited info on these units...especially in reference to install. It is coming with the original installation manual from Kenne Bell. Kit includes boost gauge, wideband and everything else needed for install. Has 6 pulleys as well. I do need to acquire injectors. I am assuming I will have tons of questions to ask of you guys as FI is new to me. I plan on diving into this in a couple months, leaving me time to do more research and acquire the necessary supporting mods. Wheatley has agreed to provide me a baseline tune so I can drive the truck to Slowhawk to have a dyno tune done after install. I am in the process of figuring out what to do about a transmission. Mad Dog has been very helpful, told me if I blow up his LVL 4 65E he would take it back and apply the purchase price of it towards his built 80E. I am asking for suggestions, recommendations and any advice you guys can provide. What injectors should I look into? The cool cat I bought the kit from said 60/lb'ers, I kinda felt that might be overkill? I will update this thread as progress continues/happens and I'm sure be asking multiple questions. Pics of the kit coming in a few... Edited March 10, 2012 by GreenMtnSS (see edit history)

juriha
How much did u spend if u don't mind me asking? I paid $2300 shipped for everything. Damn Hanson ... You'll be the fastest Woodchuck I know .... LOL ... Haha come n' get me!!! Hopefully have this all buttoned up for LVD this year...and hopefully not the slowest truck there again! I think 60's would be just right, good luck with the build should be a beast Ok, thanks. FIC has been recommended so I will be getting some 60's with the wiring adapters...I hope it turns out well. juriha
A few updates/planning changes...I am getting a LVL IV 65E from Mad Dog transmissions, I personally spoke with the owner and expressed my concerns of the longevity of these transmissions, he was so confident in his built unit that he said if I blow it up, that he would take it back and exchange it for his built 80E. Also ordered Siemens Deka 60/lb injectors with wiring adapters as many other members recommended. Also picked up EFI Live scan/tune tool so I can monitor the truck after install which will benefit Wheatley setting me up with a baseline tune so I can get to Slowhawk. EFI Live is one cool program, ran a bunch of logs on the truck in its current form just for the hell of it, been reading tons on how to use the program. Next order of business is fuel pump...the kit came with an inline pump that works with the stock one in the tank...my buddy who is helping me with the install thinks we should just put a bigger pump in the tank itself and be done, eliminating the inline pump altogther. I need suggestions on which pump to get...Walbro 255? Aeromotive 340? Would this suffice? Open to any and all input. Thanks fellas.
f1ss
Very nice, brings Justin Lamana's truck (now sold) to mind. Im jealous for sure and I will be stealing your spot as the slowest at LVD
f1ss
I would love to see what times this bada$$ pulls. Maybe a NorthEast record over BYN's or SmitL3's run on a SSS. Edited April 4, 2012 by 03mass (see edit history)

The_aSSet
Bit late on this, if you're still looking at fuel pumps, the aero 340 would be my choice and just do an intank and be done with it. Hopefully you don't end up making too much power and either have to dial it back or upgrade the fuel system a second time. Keep us updated! juriha
Picked up some more parts and pieces...however the build is being put on hold for multiple reasons. The reman'ed LQ9 that I had installed (Jasper product) is burning a little over a quart of oil every 2-3k miles...which is enough to raise concern, seeing as the motor has less than 10k miles on it. Jasper does have a 3 yr/100k warranty, so I am beginning that process to possibly get yet another brand new LQ9. All I have left to acquire is a stout tranny, converter and tune. Also purchased a DD. Who woulda thought my DD would have FI before my truck!? I picked up a '97 Saab 9000 Aero 2.3L Turbo. Car is in great shape, 5 spd. Guy was hard up to sell as he was moving to Australia, so I got it for $1500 bucks. Its pretty quick and gets 31 mpg. Cant complain, enjoy the eye candy below! juriha
Thanks asset...So, I've been busy! Decided to go ahead with the install. Picked up a FLT LVL 7 65E and a Circle D triple disk 3200 stall...as well as a Tru Cool 40k. Also picked up NGK TR6IX plugs. The first weekend of work we did the complete tranny swap...it went pretty well with the guidance from my automotive guru known as Whip. None of this build would be possible without his knowledge and assistance. Weekend two we made huge strides...I have yet to photograph that, but got everything done under the hood except mounting blower pulley system and intake. Wiring and coil trays were all messed up from the shop that swapped my motor, so we spent half a day fixing their mistakes. Injector swap was a breeze and I am really enjoying doing this "myself." Tomorrow we plan on buttoning everything up under the hood, including the trans cooler, and hopefully getting the Aero 340 and Racetronix harness in. One question...which pulley should I start out with? Pics of tranny...
The_aSSet
You're gonna love that FLT! glad to see it all coming together. Sorry I can't help with the pulley. Not familiar with Kb stuff
cadowns
Sorry I did not see this before now. Looks like you will have about the setup as I have. Start thinking NOW as to how you would add an intercooler to your setup. I sure wish I had one. I would go with the smallest pulley and be done with it. I run 8 to 9 lbs of boost, but I don't play hard either as the SS is my DD. Be sure to read and observe the directions on the OIL level and type. I use Royal Purple SAE 50 synthetic. Holler if I can Help. CD
