Well im finally getting enough parts together to start showing off the new motor for the Silverado ss. The old motor (LQ9) went bye bye..lol. Not exactly sure what happened but both rear, #7 and #8 pistons blew to pieces. It went a best of 12.9 at bandimere with out the thunder racing blower cam on 10 lbs.

on to the new stuff.....

Manley forged crank

Manley forged rods

Manley forged "blower" pistons

Hellfire rings

New ls3 heads with PRC double .650 lift springs

cam to be determined with help of Zippy.

comp push rods

Ls7 lifters

double roller timing set

ls6 valley cover

L92 intak with 87 mm TB

3200-3400 stall

Stealth 340 pump

60# injectors

and the D1Sc, 3 core on 10-12 lbs again.

If you don't get in the 11's.... and i don't get in the 10's.... were just gonna have a demo derby on the way home from the track like some "Days of Thunder" shit! And then we'll call insurance and total both those pigs out!! squintnoeswerdrun.gif

wanna sell the engine? sigh.gif how much did it cost for everything if you dont mind me asking? im looking for the same setup popcorn.gif

 

 

the short block was $3400 for everything. block, machine work, balancing, parts etc...

the LS3 heads were $320 each

i think all said and done i will have about $6400

okay i ordered more parts.

 

Cam is a custom grind 242 254 @ .50

620 620 Lsa 114

spinning to 6500 rpm

 

i also ordered my timiing set.

 

tell me what you think about this cam choice..????

 

still waiting on arp head studs and intake and thats it.

Its single stage victory red. i lightly spray the block with etching primer the spray on the color with no hardner so it can expand and contract with the heat. it works great..although you probably wont see much if any when its in the truck. lol
