Cats?

Recommended Posts

I am not sure about Cali but here in good ole Tennessee I'm not running any. Most exhaust shops won't do it. I had to have mine rewelded and it took me over a month to find a place. Just google your states laws on exhaust

Illegal to not have them in Florida. With no emissions though who cares.I run no cats and most places will take them out and strait pipe them. Just not going to get a receipt for that work. Same thing with front windshield tint.

you can check here for info..i had a list of all after market cats that met CARB. specs. but can't find them.. :banghead: most "high flow" cats will not flow any better than stock ones in good condition IMO..the other 49 state cats, still meet the same Federal standards as CA. cats.

As to the smog shop question, well it depends where you go. My buddy had CARB legal headers and high flow cats on a Toyota pickup a few years back. He took it to the same shop year after year and they never asked him about anything done to the truck, it was highly modified for desert racing. He passed every year no problem, well within the legal limits. One year, not sure why, he took it to another shop. That shop said the headers weren't legal because it didn't have the CARB EO number stamped on the headers themselves even though he had the CARB EO number sticker in the glove box.

Based on your info in your signature this is supposed to be the correct CA approved cat
