lumbeepride
Changed gear ratio with diablo, seems to help mpgs?
The_aSSet
You can't change your gear ratio with a tuner. Its physically changing the gearing in the rear end. And using the tuner to tell the computer you have different gears. Oh and wrong section. detjoe
seems to help becuase your computer is being lied too and now your MPG is just a calculation of that error...sorry

2001silverado364
You must have changed it to a numerically lower ratio, now you speedo says you're going faster than you are and you're putting more miles on your odometer than actual miles. If that makes sense....
Silverad0 SS
Changed gear ratio with diablo, seems to help mpgs? lmao nice!!! i wish it was that easy You must have changed it to a numerically lower ratio, now you speedo says you're going faster than you are and you're putting more miles on your odometer than actual miles. gmJake
You changed your speedometer by the tire size. Not the gear ratio.
lumbeepride
It said change gear ratio
The_aSSet
Yea in your computer, not your rear end. You're just telling the computer that you have a different gear ratio but its still the same physically inside the rear end.
2001silverado364
You HAVE to physically change both the ring and pinion gears in the rear diff to change your gear ratio, all you've done is set your speedo off and, as such, the computer thinks you're getting better mileage. Why is this in forced induction / nitrous anyway? Edited June 12, 2012 by No SS (see edit history)
