AKSSS
I had my stock heads ported and polished(valve springs and more) and put in some dished pistons with total seal rings. I used a 15cc dished piston and it dropped my cr. down the 8.8:1. I think the piston change is easy to do and I think that a little higher compression would be more streetable. You can make a lot of power on stock heads. It just depends on what you want to spend. If you HAVE the money for a nice large chambered high flowing head, by all means. Get it. Stock 317 heads are 72cc iirc. They isn't too many options that I have seen that are much larger than that. But I haven't looked around lately either. I think you would be money ahead to send your heads to tea or something like that. You are going to want forged pistons anyways. Just run the stock crank. They are good for big power too. That has been proven on here many times over. Edited August 24, 2012 by Aksss (see edit history)
