JC03SS
Here's my question to you guys. The cooler the fluid the better? What is the temp range best suited for the trans? Thanks guys
The_aSSet
It can be too cold, with the bigger tranny cooler I usually put foil on it in the winter as a precaution. just as long as its in the range of the gauge I think its okay. JC03SS
I knew I should have asked you first lol. Thanks nick. Just wondering. I was thinking about wrapping my exhaust pipe that crosses the trans with header wrap to help a little too.
The_aSSet
Should be fine, the higher stall TC will warm up the tranny, and the cooler and shift kit will keep it in check.

Lil overkill dont ya think? Ur trans temp will run around ur coolant temp or below. U can get the fluid hot as hell even in cold winter months depending on obvious driving habbits. I wouldnt worry about it unless its ur DD and u are in deep negative temps. Even then all ull need is an inline thermostat as the engine will be in open loop to warm the engine temps till operating temp which will warm the trans fluid. They offer the thermostat option when buying coolers. Edited September 12, 2012 by 2BFAST (see edit history)
juriha
I got the bypass with my tru-cool for that very reason, only like $12 extra. Gotta haul the sleds!

Fireman31
That bypass for the TruCool makes the idea of having a TruCool pointless since it doesn't open up until it reaches 180*, which is a bit high....
kissfans03ss
This summer I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic at 100 degrees and humid,my Trans temps did not budge they were less than what I had prior to installing the cooler. RockHead
I run a Tru-cool with a 2800 torque converter and it stays at

Hmm according to my trans gauge, it hasn't been above 150° since I've put the FLT and cooler in...
