silverado777
i did 6.5 in the front and 5.25 in the back. both component sets. depends on how much you want to spend and if you are going to run and after market amp to them. jddmj
You will not need an amp if you just switch out with a 2 or 3 ways speaker. If you want really great sound, do component speakers with a small amp. Just enough to power them at the recommended power. Now we are talking! chawkins6789
I went with Polk DXi-6500 components up front and DXi-460 plate components in the back
ThatTallCanadian
hmmm might do components then, i want good sound. I'll prolly just end up getting it set up next spring, trucks getting parked for the winter after this weeekend most likely
f1ss
PPI components helped my buddy win the New England competition of stereos with a JL w7 8-inch, then we switched to 2 10inch woofers (this was a Jeep and could literally make a grown man cry thats how loud it was). Its like that LRAD sound protection, the system reached such high decibals that it would screw with your brain and make you break down, I really couldnt believe my eyes and then experienced it myself, WOW is all I can say. Other recomendation is Focal components. http://www.precisionpower.com/html-version/products/speakers/PC3-65C.html PPI's on ebay. I will be adding these but keeping the stock bose covers where possible http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Precision-Power-PC3-65C-6-5-3-way-Components-/200646808703?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item2eb77b547f Edited September 28, 2012 by 03mass (see edit history)
ThatTallCanadian
Those look awesome! Any idea if those would require an amp?
f1ss
They were run through an amp. I cannot remember what brand company it was.

ThatTallCanadian
ended up getting some JL components C2 I believe. Gonna run em coax for now then get amps later next spring when I'm out of college.
2003_SuperSport
I like the sound and highs of the stock Bose' speakers. I just added two 10" Kicker Comps in a downfire box and a Rockford Fosgate 900W Amp to give it some nice bass. It won't win competitions but is plenty loud enough to make people mad if you crank it. I like to hear the words to go with the bass lol.
