RSpencer
I took my 03 AWD SS to the track yesterday. Kinda surprised my times weren't faster, best run was 15.14 @ 89 mph. Mods are a PCM street tune done by a shop a couple hours away from me (noticed a large difference after the tune was done), K&N intake, and a Flowmaster replacement muffler. Truck has a fresh tune up and runs great, just was expecting a mid 14 out of it. Temps were around 50 degrees.
canadianVRss
Seems normal. What's your elevation?
diggerdan11
Thats about what I ran before my Tune and after the flowmasters and K&N. There are plenty of SS's on this site that run in the low 15's even with a tune
Silverad0 SS
Seems normal. What's your elevation? X2 that has a lot to do with it.
RSpencer
Elevation is 585 above
Silverad0 SS
How many miles do you have on it? And how was it tuned?
RSpencer
How many miles do you have on it? And how was it tuned? 94k miles. As far as how it was tuned, what do you mean? It was done on the street with data logging and making adjustments, no dyno.
The_aSSet
Did they use a wideband?
detjoe
with basic mods, IMO a wideband will gain you little. There are a few trucks guys had to figure out in zero'ing all the delays to get them running out of the hole. How many LS Trucks have they tuned?? Are they using HPT?? DO you have acess to the tune? could you post it???
RSpencer
They used Tuner Cat on it. They have tuned quite a few, including one of the fastest turbo SSS's. I don't have access to the tune as it was done back in July, always thought the truck ran fantastic so I never really had much interest in seeing the tune. zippy
For a tune truck that is a rather crappy time. I can see why you were disappointed. As for whether or not they have done alot of trucks really doesn't say much either. I've fixed tunes for guys that have been tuned by big name tuners who didn't go any faster tuned than not tuned. Many tuners whether at a shop or not learned by internet reading and don't know what most of the stuff even does that they change.

I went a 14.5 with about the same mods from the man above^^ maybe they aren't as good as they think they are.
