evandostert
I talked to my machinist today. I want to refresh my 6.0 block. I was asking him about how I wanted more cubes to keep a larger cam streetable. He suggested that a 427 would be reliable without piston rocking if the iron block was sleeved. Does this sound crazy? Should I start with my block or a junkyard or just purchase a turn key longblock?
The_aSSet
427 is pushing it but a few have done it. Id rather get an aluminum ls2 and make a 427 out of that. Why not a 408?
detjoe
what are you trying to do???? Yes start with your block...or drive it and get a core to build if you cannot take your truck off the road. But you have to give us some ideas of goals, 427 sounds like all out? evandostert
I am doing this myself. I want everything to line up like factory. I don't want headaches. Knock sensors different heads trying to line up my LSXRT intake are all a very large pain. I know I won't have these issues using the block already in it. 408's are great. I want a little more. I know a 427 without the sleeve will cause piston rocking.
