team3and8
I had the same service brake booster light on. But my brakes were fine. Drove me nuts. I changed the pump that's on the booster and now it's fine. The pump would make some noise at start up but I never saw any difference in my brakes. matt 2k12
I don't even hear any noise from mine. I think its from the cam so I need the vacuum booster tank. Where do I plumb it in line? Right in front of the brake booster?
chawkins6789
Only 2 things cause that. The truck is upset with the electrical system. In my case it was a 300 amp alternator. Or low vacuum. Could be the cam, or even the supplemental brake assist motor on your brake booster gone bad. matt 2k12
Is there any way to just turn off the service brake booster notification? And how do I turn off my change oil notification?
Blown 346
To turn off the change oil you have to put the key in the on position and hit the gas pedal to the floor 3 times and you will reset it.
matt 2k12
Ok thanks, what about the brake booster warning? Can you disable that? I think it is becaue of my cam specs.
chawkins6789
It will disable when the issue is resolved. As long as you have that bump stick, the message will appear Sent from my DROID RAZR using Xparent Red Tapatalk
chpspecial
Matt, looks like you will need to either switch to a hydroboost set up, or intall a vacuum pump.
chawkins6789
Switching to hydro boost, you need to have the cluster programmed from what I read. If it doesn't see the SBA during tests it will throw the message. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Xparent Red Tapatalk

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2 No programing needed, you just have to jump the two outer wires that go to the vacuum canister. once they are jumped, there will be no brake error messages. chawkins6789
Hydro boost is on my list of things to do once I buy another car for a daily driver Sent from my DROID RAZR using Xparent Red Tapatalk
matt 2k12
Thanks for the info Mr. chpspecial. Is there a picture or write up or anything of this jump or similar jumps being done? What is hydroboost anyways? I'm not on here often...
chawkins6789
Hydro boost was the brake system the 2500/3500's used. Brake power is generated by the power steering pump instead of by vacuum Sent from my DROID RAZR using Xparent Red Tapatalk
