rdavid0412
I just got an 06 TBSS intake and am wondering what all I will need to complete the swap? Should I just use my fuel rails and convert the crossover tube? need some information
rdavid0412
No one has any information on this? I have already used the search on here but there should be a how to or some general guidlines. All I have found are the after pictures of the swap.......... chpspecial
you will need an xlink to control the bigger TB or the 4-3 TB adapter, if possible the fuel rails and cross over form the TBSS manifold, and that is about it. If you are going to use the injectors from the TBSS, then you will also need the harness to convert from multitec 2 injectors to ev6
rdavid0412
The TB on the TBSS intake is fly by wire already it has 4 bolts. The TBSS rails will not work because my truck has a return style system ans the TBSS fuel system is the returnless style.
shadowsniper3006
He was saying you need an x link to control that style of tb on our trucks. Or you could use an adapter on the front of the intake to run our stock three bolt tb on it should you not want to buy an x link. As far as fuel lines go, you could use aftermarket rails and braided lines with an aftermarket regulator. Or I think i have heard of guys using the stock lq9 rails and cutting/modifying the crossover line to make it work, but that may have been the l92 intake I'm thinking of.....so try some searching for that. rdavid0412
So your saying that the plug on my truck for fly by wire will not work with the TBSS fly by wire?
chpspecial
So your saying that the plug on my truck for fly by wire will not work with the TBSS fly by wire? No it will not, we have an 8 pin plug, the 87mm and 90mm TB have a 6, and its not something that can be done by repining a plug
GI.SS
Nope, the pins and electronics on the inside of the TB's are completely different. To run the larger tb you will need the adapter harness. There's no getting around that. On a forced induction system that the compressor is pre TB having the larger inlet doesn't do much as it would on a N/A setup but the manifold will flow better out of the box than the truck intake
rdavid0412
Where do I find the adapter harness? What about the MAP and EVAP plugs? What intake gaskets do I use?
rdavid0412
Or would it just be better to just buy an X-link and a TB?
chpspecial
http://torquerush.com/ The other way is to do the speartech TAC module and harness, either way costs about the same
rdavid0412
Thanks for the link. So All I need to do is buy the 3.0 harness and make a new crossover fuel line then? rdavid0412
Ok got any info on how to get the fuel rails right the pics in the how to section are expired?
matt 2k12
Keep in mind my truck lost 10 HP/TQ when going to the TBSS intake. Something about the stock runner length is optimized for the truck application. I think a FAST por FAST replica is best bet... whats the cheap version of FAST intake? I forget
