powell
Anyone know anything about clamping leafs to help get some better 60' times? Came across this link on PT after not having any luck here. http://www.rm-indy.com/spring_clamps.htm

powell
A couple of guys on PT were running 1.7s with slicks and clamed leafs, I just started reading on it today.
D1SCSS
Clamping leafs helps a little bit. I wasn't happy with the traction in my S10 with clamped leafs and bought a set of cal-tracs. That was the best $400 I spent on the truck. I never took it to the track so I don't have numbers, however I can tell you that I made a huge difference in traction. I plan on buying an AWD SS but if I end up getting a 2WD the first thing I get for it will be cal-tracs!!!! Also, they are adjustable so you can set how stiff you want them..... powell
Thread from PT where some guys are claiming decent 60's with clamping. http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/gm-drivetrain-suspension-22/clamped-leaf-springs-479319/ Worth a try for a cheap mod for the 2wd guys. rudy91040
The theory behind it makes sense. I can't say I know anyone that's done it but for a low buck mod and totally reversible it can't hurt.
