MagnachhargedSS
I just bought this truck last week. On the interstate, if I give it much gas, the truck will automatically throw a P0128 code "Coolant Temps Below Thermostat Operating Temp". If I drive it normally, not giving it much gas, it's fine. The guy I bought it off of did install a hypertech thermostat. I can clear the code no problem with my aeroforce gauges. Will it hurt anything? Why would it be throwing this code? Blazerdave2000
Does it have a electric fan conversion? What stat did he put in the stock or a lower temp? The stat could be bad, or low on coolant.
MagnachhargedSS
Pretty sure he put in a lower temp stat, I'll check. Fluid level looks good, heats up good as well
Fireman31
Was the tune ever updated for that thermostat?
MagnachhargedSS
Was the tune ever updated for that thermostat? I thought about that too, if it wasn't tuned for it, it would make it throw a code. I'll see if I can get ahold of the previous owner and ask him if it was tuned for it. If not....I guess I'll put the stock stat back in
