vader244
Hey guys, i never really make any post on here but i figured yall would like to see this. Months ago the vinyl coating on my dash board started to peel, so i decided to remove it. I applied Sandable primer, sanded smooth then added 4 coats of matte black plasti dip! This stuff is awesome, and very easy to work with! Tell me what you think. ?
MobbinSS
i think it looks fine. but be ready for some negative comments. would look really nice with gloss black paint, trust me. looks good though for being peeling before. vader244
Thanks! Ive always thought about the gloss black but was always effy bc of the glare. keep in mind, if i dont like how it looks in the truck, i can peel it off and go gloss. hpnotq4.8
I've tried plasti dip on plastics for my interior before... Starts to flex with the sun, didnt even last me 1 day, Good luck, hopefully it comes out great
BlueAKSSS
While plasti-dip might work, if your going to go to the trouble I would just fix it right and get some color match vinyl dye and re spray the dash. Won't be able to tell there was ever a problem with peeling if the match is close! 1BAD2K
Yeah I was thinking the same lol. You did all the hard work... why not use professional spray vinyl dye?
Downeast Johnny
While plasti-dip might work, if your going to go to the trouble I would just fix it right and get some color match vinyl dye and re spray the dash. Won't be able to tell there was ever a problem with peeling if the match is close! This is the path that I would go, too. Probably would last a long time before it started peeling again. (I do think that the original paint on the dash is not what it should be, though). I love plasti-dip!! I plast-dip everything; my car, my truck, my motorcycle, my snowmobile, my cat and dog..... LOL Have you tried it as a condom, yet? Seems like it would make a pretty heavy duty one.

2bfast
Perfect example of why you do it right the first time. Got a peeling dash? Replace it or re dye it!
