Help with record button.

I recently purchased hp tuners and I'm going step by step learning how to use it. So far I was able to save my factory tune on the editor part and ive used the scanner part to see live data and stuff like that. I want to use the record feature to log graphs to send to tuners so they can send me a updated tune back and reflash my computer. How the heck do u record lol? I can't figure it out for the life of me. I've read all over the hptuners site and also on the help section of hptuners. Still wont work. Comes up with a error message. Does anyone have the correct step by step process for this? Thanks much.

What error message? You open the vcm scanner, click connect in the upper left of the screen, then click the blue play button over to the right and you'll be logging

Then after you're done logging click the blue stop button and then go to scan> save data as, then save it and there's your log.

Ok thanks I'm on my way home now ill give that a try. But I have a record button on my interface module?

That's for black box recording, did you buy the pro version?

Yes sir I did.

You have to activate that function with your laptop hooked up then you can disconnect your laptop and then record your log without having the laptop. But I've never used that cause I like to see whats going on

you need to tell the program whats its reading when the record gets pressed.

in the scanner>scan>MPVI pro standalone data logging>write config.

 

it will write the confing you are using to the memory of the unit and then when you push the button it will record using the config you want.

 

give that a try and see if its still givijngt you an error
