Aux in for a 2004 with Bose system

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Its been forever since I've been on. Too long. Anyway, I'm looking for a way to plug in a 1/8" plug into the stock stereo. I noticed that there is an "aux" under the "cd" button. Does that actually do anything? I'm looking to hook up my portable satellite receiver to the stock system. I've got the Bose multi cd system WITHOUT satellite radio.

Thanks all!

The button really does not do anything.

If you want to add and Aux imput you need an intigration kit of some sort.

Check out this one, it will work for what you need

And I think you need this adapter for it

Thanks for the info but that one you mentioned is for a radio with an external cd changer. I haven't checked but do our BOSE systems have a cd changer port in the rear? I'm checking out PAC's website now and seeing if they have anything available that doesn't require me tapping into the radio antenna and using an fm channel.

Seems like it would be simpler to just buy an aftermarket head unit but I can't spend the buckolas right now :o(

It should have a CD changer port, mine does and so does my non-bose single CD in my other truck.

If you pull out the CD player there should be 3 thing plugged into the back: The radio antenna, the main power and speakers wires, then there is a third plug that plugs into the back and it usualy on has one wite pluged in and I have no idea what that does. The kit i posted plugs into the back of the headunit where that third plug plugs in, then you plug that third plug into the Aux kit. Its actually fairly simple, I do not have that kit, but my aftermarket XM is set up the same way.

Here is a pic. the main power goes on the right and the aux will plug into the part on the left

Hey I used a PIE interface on my 03 SSS. The GM12-AUXV2, gave me rca outm then used a RCA to ear phone jack adapter. I pluged the jack into the back of a iPhone craddle and could listen to my tunes from the iPhone. I have since gone with a Pioneer deck and have no need for the GM12-AUXV2, $20 and its yours.

PM me if your interested.
