ser13ant
is a dyno tune needed right after having headers installed or would I be Okay with the regular tune ? Edited April 18, 2013 by ser13ant (see edit history)
bassmaster
it is not NEEDED, but it is definetly reccomended. not because it is doing harm with a stock tune, but a re-turn will get the full performance and benefit from the headers Edit. At least that is my understanding. Correct if wrong Edited April 18, 2013 by bassmaster (see edit history)
Joe Roknic
yes get it tuned... better performance as mentioned by bassmaster, and to turn off rear 02 sensors ... it will throw a code. might want to put on a c.a.i. at the same time... if you dont have one already

Joe Roknic
Dyno tune ? no...not needed for those mods.... not a bad idea... i heard Speed Inc in shaumburg has a really good tuner. Are you fairly close to that area??

Aldofashow
Has anyone had to turn off the rear o2 sensors with arh Lt headers with the cats or are they fine on
texaSS364
Has anyone had to turn off the rear o2 sensors with arh Lt headers with the cats or are they fine on I have the arh with cats and drove it for a couple thousand miles before i got it tuned. didn't throw any codes
texaSS364
Dyno tune ? With just headers a regular tune will be fine. You might get you 2 or 3 horsepower more with a dyno tune but not worth the money, just do a live tune.
poopnewton
For me I wouldn't bother with a dyno tune for just bolt ons unless you could get it for around the same money as a regular tune. If I started to get into the engine or F.I. then I would. Edited April 19, 2013 by shadowsniper3006 Double post (see edit history)
Joe Roknic
I have the arh with cats and drove it for a couple thousand miles before i got it tuned. didn't throw any codes .... maybe i was given erronious information.. i was told it needed to happen ... my cats are gutted
Blown 346
A dyno tune will get more than 2 or 3 HP... A dyno tune alone on a stock vehicle can get you over 30.

I meant you will only get 2 to 3 more horsepower than you would from a regular live tune
