It'll work, you'll just have a little bit of a gap where the grill meets the hood. But a member on here had his truck set up like that and it looked fine to me. Same hood on 03-05 std truck as an SS and same hood on a 06 std truck as an 06 SS truck. 03-05 Chevys (including SS) share same hood and all 06 Chevys (including SS) wear the remainder HD hoods from HD truck models. 03-04 HD Chevys wear same hood as all std 1500 03-05 Chevy trucks (including SS) and 05-06 HD wear the raised hood that all std 1500 06 models (including SS) use.
