tjblack03ss
I'm looking into getting some e-fans soon and was wondering it the tyc 620380 fans would work on my ss or if anybody knows what other brands that would work and fits best
BlueAKSSS
No those fans look to be from an Impala from a quick search. You want the 05-06 factory truck style fans. The TYC number for the correct ones is 622230. Looks like they are $164 on Amazon, although check Car-part.com in your local area for 05-06 Silverado 1500's with Fans might be a better deal to get some used ones. chawkins6789
I paid $85 for used ones at a salvage yard
Aldofashow
I paid 100 bucks for mine out of a 2005 z71 avalanche and 125 for a pcmforless harness and 10 bucks to have my local tuner turn them on 235 total been running them for 2 years without any problems. Also I needed to get the top two mounting bolts from the dealer as they are a little bit longer then your original bolts Edited January 19, 2014 by Aldofashow (see edit history)

skymynx
Glad to stumble across this thread. Looks like some simple enough mod to do this spring.
Aldofashow
It really was pretty easy to install. Pcmforless harness came with some really good instructions. I'm sure they all do though
onebadmax
Very easy install, and well worth it. Also looks great too.
ssfast
So prob the best way of doing this mod is buying the wiring kit from black bear or PCM for less and finding a set of used fans. Any one have a particular place to look for the fan sets? Or gm part number. Edited February 6, 2014 by ssfast (see edit history)
Aldofashow
I got mine from a salvage yard 2005 avalanche z71
JC03SS
Noway I'd buy used fans when I can buy them for less than 180$ brand new. It's up to you tho each to there own.
Brian22030
What's the deal when the tuner "turns them on"? Are they somehow controlled off some kind of t stat or do they just run non stop? Any issues with the extra draw on the elec system? No one has really said in the many threads I have read regarding this....
JC03SS
Your tuner will have them come on at a set temp n go off when they reach a set temp. All you gotta do is just drive. They will take care of it.
Brian22030
Thanks JC this cleared up my question and hope it helps other wondering too
onebadmax
They come on with AC pressure too. Any tuner worth a hoot can get your fans operating correctly.
