blurred
Well, I joined due to my search for parts honestly, but I also love these trucks... So I have lurked the forum just looking at pictures... My name's Boyd and I have an SS... bumper. Decided to build one to fit my Colorado. Getting closer each day, but it's a slow process that has been brought to a halt at the moment due to the need for the brake ducts. Anyway, hello and good day. Here is a photo of the truck in it's current state of repair/build/construction.

JC03SS
Welcome to the site. Nice looking truck. What kinda rims are those in the back? Nissan Titan wheels on the Truck now?
blurred
Yes, titans are on the truck right now for the winter. The set on the wallnare 20x9.5 BBS RD6 rims that came off a Toyota tundra, 2003 or 2006, though I can't remember. They were part of a package that came from Toyota for a few years. JC03SS
Keep us posted on your build truck looks nice. Like the wheels on the wall. They would look good on an SS
blurred
Yes they do. I've only seen the full-size guys run them due to their width and offset, so I had to try. Took a bit of work to get them to fit, but it was worth it. If you guys want a link to the build thread I have going Ill post the link. Its somewhere between 60 and 70 pages long though lol... blurred
Just to let you guys in on some progress... Had a little time this afternoon and the weather was nice so I started working.Lined everything up on the truck so that I could weld in the notches I made on the corners of the bumpers. Also marked what I needed to cut off to weld in the center lower bar. Logan wanted to come out and help...Everything back off the truck and tacked up together...On the truck to test fitAnd lastly, back off and in the garage so that I can pull the cover and finish up the welds from the inside to strengthen everything. Also need to modify the sides one day with the cover on the truck. Need to make sure they line up well with the side skirts.
Downeast Johnny
Pretty work on a great project Boyd. Looks like Logan is destined to be a hot rodder too. Almost forgot; Welcome to the site. Edited March 29, 2014 by Downeast Johnny (see edit history)

powell
Welcome to the site! Let's see a link to the build thread. The Colorado front ends are probably one of my favourites, just behind the 06 SS.... Haha
blurred
Appreciate the comments. The build thread is here: http://www.355nation.net/forum/projects-build/55133-project-blueprint-combining-styles-something-unique-11-26-13-a-1.html Right now, I have everything apart and sitting in the garage. I'll be taking it over to paint when I get home from work tonight. I should have everything back by the 19th/20th hopefully. I will have more updates tonight. blurred
Alright, dropped everything off at the painters. I'll be picking them up here in a bit.. going to be a long wait since I am impatient lol.. Also, wanted to toss out a big thanks to Chevyman57. He helped me out big time with his reproduction brake ducts/vents for the front bumper. I'll be tossing up a review with pictures of them here in a bit (once they actually upload) for everyone to see.
