diggerdan11 Posted June 30, 2014 Report Share Posted June 30, 2014 So I brought the Chevelle to our local car show as I do every year, and I figured i would share some pictures. Its was a great turnout this year with almost 500 cars. I took the Chevelle out for the first time this year the weekned before and it was running like crap. It died on me multiple times. I ended up overnighting a new carburetor, but during the install we broke one of the studs that attaches the carb to the manifold, so we had to drill that out. I also broke the choke so I had to order a new one. I also did a complete tune up. The chevelle now runs great when you give it gas, but it runs very rough while idling in gear. His dad had it built, but he passed away less than a month after it was completes. Sad story This is probably the best car in the show. Yeah its always a really nice turnout. They have a 500 car limit and usually have around 450 or so. A couple years ago they filmed and episode of My Classic Car and they actually hit the 500 car limit and had to turn a few cars away. I think the location helps quite a bit . Its in a very nice park with lots of shade and its near the lake so when it gets hot there is still a nice cool breeze coming off the lake. A few years ago a new car club took over running the show and they moved it to a different crappy location. They had less then 250 cars show up that year. Im moving to Portland soon, but I may be able to make the trip down to this show. I hope to make it to the GM nationals one of these years.
