ALM1254 Posted January 24, 2015 Report Share Posted January 24, 2015 I have an 04 ss awd when making turns left or right I hearing a moaning sound from front end only get it when truck is rolling thru turns. if you hit the gas no noise I hadi t to local chevy dealer and they replaced carrier bearings & pinion bearing. still have same noise Any thoughts? Downeast Johnny Posted January 24, 2015 Report Share Posted January 24, 2015 The noise came back immediately after having the diff rebuilt, as in the noise never left? Bearings should have quieted it if the problem was the diff. When my diff went it was noisy all the time, not just in turns. Did they check the hubs? Blown 346 Posted January 27, 2015 Report Share Posted January 27, 2015 Any AWD of these trucks has to have the front diff serviced at 500 miles. Neither one of mine never made a noise.
