So here goes nothing, I am the newest owner of Justin lamannas SS (the one from the awd burnout) and on my way home from work Friday I floored it around a corner and after it shifted to 2nd it was about to shift to 3rd and heard a clunk/bang, and the rpms spiked(redlined). I let off and coasted a bit when I went to give it some throttle again it wouldn't shift 1-2 unless I coaxed it by getting it over 3000 or so RPM's and let off gas completely, it will then shift but I have to do the exact same thing for 2-3. Reverse works perfect, no loud clunks or noises when putting in gear. Also if I try it in 1 on the selector and go to 2 or 3 it does nothing. Anybody have this issuw before or have any ideas of what could be the issue?

don't really think it's a issue of sorts. Just sounds like it's time for a rebuild..

I figured as much just looking on insight of what broke, trying to educate myself

I hear ya...I'm actually at the trans shop tight now trying to get mine fixed...been totally screwed, what I do know and I hate to say this I don't trust trans guys...you drop it of with a list of things you want done and an idea of want you want that trans to do...you never see it done so there has to be trust...

Yeah mine got dropped off today, waiting to hear what they find and then I'll go from there. I will say that I absolutely do not trust big chain transmission shops, especially for performance rebuilds. Trust is earned and the only way you can trust a transmission rebuild is if you don't have to go back and have it re-built lol. I've at least got a friend of friend doing mine so it isn't going to break the bank, upgrading hard parts and everything to 4l65e stuff and soft parts will also be upgraded, $600 isn't too shabby

Don't let them take you to the bank. It's already got 4l65e hard parts, because it is a 4l65e!

Unless he swapped to a 80E already. I know his truck has obviously been extensively modified. some of the older members who know that truck more intimately might know what it's got.

Awesome, wasn't sure if it was upped to the 65e or not. The more I know the more I can ask questions about to the builder. I'm hoping its just soft parts

Hopefully some of the older members can chime in!
