Longsleevess
Hey guys, I have a 2005 Silverado ss 6.0 with the 4L60E transmission that needs to be repaired. I was looking into swapping it out with a 4L65E transmission out of an 2003 Silverado ss. So I wanted to know would this be a simple swap/bolt on and go or will I run into some issues like it not fitting or will my trucks onboard computer work with the new trans? synyster_SS
It will be direct plug and play, just make sure to flush out the trans cooler lines and cooler, and have the transmission shift adapts reset with a Tech 2 scan tool. I had a friend loan me a freshly built 4L60E when I had my 4L65E out to be rebuilt after the forward sprag let go.. no problems whatsoever in the month that the 60 was installed in my truck. Akslowroller
I thought the 03 has different plugs on the trans? Never mind the 02 silverado is different
EXGM
Unless I am missing something your 05 has a 4l65 not a 4l60. All SSS had the 65s.
