lucky03
So I went to purchase my fist hand gun. But I can't here in Virginia because I'm a military spouse and don't have a Virginia drivers license. I really don't to become a Virginia resident. Not sure if there is anyway around it though. If anybody has any suggestions please let me know.
*LB*Intimidator06
There is no way really around this with out becoming A resident their.
EXGM
I think most states are that way. Here in NC you need to have a NC drivers license. I think your either gonna need to get a new license or go buy one back home when you go visit and bring back with you.
smalltownguy
Did you try to buy one at the exchange on base with just your ID card?
lucky03
Did not know they sold fire arms. I will look into it though. Thanks for the info.
chadillac
As an FFL myself, I can assure you that you will need to be a resident of the state you want to buy a handgun/pistol in. For long guns that is not always the case though, it varies between states though on their laws about selling to non-residents. Your only option is to buy in the state where you are technically a resident and bring it back to Virginia. Or become a resident but you already said you don't want to ;)
Mrrat1SS
My brother just bought a S&W 40 cal hand gun at the gun show in Oak, PA we are NJ residents. Had to be sent to FFL in NJ for him to pick it up.
monster1213
Or you could privately purchase a hand gun from someone. Virginia has to be one of the easiest states to sell firearms in. Anyone can sell you their gun as long as they know that you can legally possess one (i.e. military id, other state cocncealed carry permit usually work)
