klowry06
Hello everyone! Glad to be on here and I'm hoping you guys can clear things up for me. I recently purchased a 1992 chevy Half ton reg Cab short bed it looks like a 454ss but has the 350 powerplant. Checked vin and engine and it's original but the trim tag under the hood says it is an ss. Was told they made small amount of the 350ss trucks. Please help me out. Downeast Johnny
Welcome to the site. I don't know, for sure, about the 350 SS but I saw this in a parking lot a while ago and snapped a pic. Figured that it was either a joke or a "home job". Look similar to yours?

As a huge fan of the 454ss era of trucks, I have done quite a bit of research on the subject. 454ss was the only factory original made at that time. The 350ss was a dealership badged item. So yes and no to answer your question. No, it is not an original Chevrolet item, but yes, they are such a thing.....in a way. nocturnal92
All I know too the aftermaket companies only made the ss350 stickers during that year to charge more the unsuspecting customers.

I just looked up this post again because I just found this listing on CL and it got me thinking about it again. This is kind of a cool looking truck. (But I am a bit of a sucker for a RCSB truck. https://eastnc.craigslist.org/cto/5151132738.html
