liftedssguy
just got my first ss a little while back and im looking to do a relative tune up here soon...wondering if other have found it worth while to install top dollar plugs and wires with any hard evidence of better mpg's and hp? no specific brand in mind, thanks in advance
SS-GTP
Your likely to get conflicting responses. IMO gong from OEM to high dollar stuff is not going to provide any benefit unless you have other upgrades to compliment it. Now in your case if you have high mileage plugs and wires, just a tune-up back to OEM equipment might benefit you a little.
liftedssguy
i was hoping someone had some experience with multi-fire spark plugs on the mpg side of things,i think its NGK that makes them along with a couple other well known brands
Downeast Johnny
You can figure that all "trick plugs" are marketing hype. Companies have been trotting out "multi fire" and "split tip" and other black magic spark plugs for nearly 100 years. They all fade away after people get wise to the marketing ploy and realize that there's no real benefit in them. Like SS-GTP say's, "If your plugs and wires have a good bit of age on them you will get some benefit out of new parts". I personally think that the best bang for the buck is iridium plugs and OEM wires. Larger diameter aftermarket wires will give some benefit but without other performance mods probably not needed.
