3eyedRaven
New user here, lifelong Silverado fan. I found a local 03 SSS Arival Blue. Haven't seen it in person, but has 105000 in the clock, pictures look good of ext. and int. Looks to be all original. KBB for this truck in excellent condition shows to be about $12,900. Could someone explain to me if this priced because they don't make them any longer, or what's the deal? Appreciate any advice you folks could give a newbie. EXGM
Good clean trucks are hard to find that have low miles. Probably why they are asking a premium. Something is worth what someone is willing to pay. While not incredibly rare ( they made lots). Silverado SS's are a unique truck... Went to look at this truck, wasn't even the right color. They said no body work all original equipment too, BUT, their was an aftermarket cold air intake on it. I could see all of the body damage that they just had painted over with the wrong color... thanks for the help... Downeast Johnny
Sorry that it didn't work out for you. Keep on looking. There some 20038 built over 5 year period Don't be misled by the 5 year production. If your looking at an 03 your looking at a full option truck. Later years, not so much. If your looking at an 03 your looking at a full option truck. Later years, not so much. Right. It must have AWD, Blue. This is the first blue SS I have seen in person, just as a sanity check, should it have a blue/green look to it? Or be bright blue? EXGM
It should be a Bright blue.... GM did offer a blue green color and it was called Bermuda Blue. It it was never on a SS. Did you look at the door jambs? Was the color the same? Sure fire way to tell if a vehicle has been repainted is feel the edges of a door/hood etc. if it feels rough it has been repainted or repaired. Factory paint has a totally glass smooth edge. 3eyedRaven
Oh for sure, I can see scratches and chips in the paint that have been covered, very obvious. That said, I might be able to 'steal' this truck with 105k in it and maybe eventually have it reworked and painted properly. I am going to see if I can get the VIN number and do further research on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hail possibly. But the scratches were easily visible and some spots in the paint were dark, almost like shadows... bad Paint job up close. Pictures look good, but you can tell the paint isn't Arrival Blue... It's sad, could have been a good buy based on The pics and descriptions...
