Blown 346
I currently have aftermarket wheels on my tuck that are 22x9.5 and the tires are 305x40x22. Not sure off the offset with these aftermarket wheels since its at the shop still. The wheels im looking at are the same 22x9.5 but not sure what the offest is. The new wheel comes with either a 15MM or 35mm offset. I want the wheels to fit over my Baer big brake kit without ant issues. Ive read to go with atleast a 30MM offset. Any input would be helpful before ordering. Edited May 3, 2018 by Blown 346 (see edit history)
A_FUrious
I think it depends on where the center line is for offset. I could be talking out of my ass also. I do know that The Boss 330s have a +32mm offset and they dont clear because of their concave design. My TBSS factory reps clear with +22 offset. Hope that is helpful. Blown 346
The wheels Im looking at are the Raceline Surge wheels and they offer a 15MM or 35MM offset. I think the 35MM offset will cause the wheel to push out past the fenders. The wheels I have now with tires the front tires are a little past the front bumper. the rears however sit in, its just the width of 305 that I think might be causing the whole issue. The wheels are from califonria and I dont want to order tires and wheel and have the weels not fit, then be responsible for paying for shipping back and a re stocking fee. Shit is stressful. lol Want to make sure all this fits before. Its my first lowered truck and want to get this right. https://www.performanceplustire.com/pptcart-payment/?ppt_cartkey=5ae8ab9430322647955606 Edited May 3, 2018 by Blown 346 (see edit history)
A_FUrious
Damn those explosion wheels are dope! Those Racelines seem like a similar positioning as TBSS wheels. Meaning that more of the wheel is in the well versus the explosion wheels with the lip. The TBSS's clear the z06 calipers easy. I can take a measurement on how much but I'm not sure if would be a good comparison. Sorry man. As far as the 305s, I agree, it's definitely bulging past the width of the wheel. Blown 346
I just found a set of Custom Milanni wheels with a 25mm offset so that will work perfect. Had to cut almost the whole truck out since we dont have enough space to post pics. Blown 346
Big brakes are nice, but when it comes to finding wheels to fit with the offset, its a pain in the ass. Anyone have a big brake kit that can help me out with the off set you are running? Dont want to waste thousand on wheels and not have the right wheels clear or hit my suspension. someotherguy
On the 06 I've got the factory brakes that I guess are a little bigger than the pre-05 trucks (as well as drum out back with the 9.5" 14 bolt) ... I was looking at mine just yesterday thinking about that Brembo big brake kit with the 16.1" rotors. The 22" Centerlines I've got have the valve stem inside the hoop, at near the center line of the wheel. If I go much larger in rotor, the wheel is going to fit fine, but the caliper is going to end up hitting the valve stem. Might be do-able if I go to a stubby-style stem or even use some bolt-in types that go in at an angle like you see on dually wheels. BTW I've noticed a lot of 22" wheels use a similar hoop design with the valve stem inside. For what it's worth, a 15"~15.5" rotor is about maximum you're going to fit inside most 20" wheels. Here's the Hellcat Brembo setup, 15.4" rotors and 6 piston calipers, on the front of my 300. The wheels are 20x9.5" OEM Hellcat as well. Plenty of wiggle room but no room to safely go bigger. (the original front brakes on this car are a 14.1" rotor and 4 piston caliper.) Blown 346
The wheels I have now do have two valve stems. One in the front and one angled at the back of the wheel. The new ones have a more positive offset as the face of the wheel sits basically flush with the lip of the rim. Im just not sure If the wheels I want are going to make the tires stick out of the fenders. Without me having my truck now I cant measure. Ive been waiting 3 weeks to buy wheels and cant get a answer to what what size offset people are running with 22's
