onelow04
O.k. I have 1 04 silverado without bose and without onstar. I have been told by several stereo shops that I can use a bestkits brand harness to hook up a aftermarket stereo in my truck. The only thing is that I will lose the chime feature and that I will have to run my own ignition/acc wire but everything else will work. Has anyone done this? Dylan06SS
i think most people here have run the PAC audio setup... thats what I'm using for my install.
fast4popper
The radio in your truck writes and reads the data for your BCM, the interface that you need is about 100 bucks spend the cash and do it the right way. you could try to do it your way but I would hate to see you have problems. It might not happen right away but it could in the future. Let us know what you decide to do. C--
onelow04
Well I think I may try this after talking to some people who have done this, some have told me theirs have been done like this since they bought their trucks in 03 and have had no problems. Keep in mind though that mine is the basic cd player, it does not have onstar or bose.
