04SSCONick Posted June 8, 2020 Report Posted June 8, 2020 I have been replacing a lot of little things to improve the overall drivability and handling. I just replaced the following: Idler arm and bracket Pitman arm tierods and ball joints flushed all fluids(front and rear dif, brake fluid, power steering fluid) did a 2in Beltech drop Magnaflow exhaust CAI, Mass AF Sensor and TB Spacer I finally have decided to start building the motor on my 03 SS. I just purchased the following: BTR Stage 3 Cam with seals springs and push rods BTR Timing Chain Tick Blueprint and ported oil pump JBA Performance LT Headers Contemplating either having the heads Ported and polished or getting LS3 heads to bolt up with LS3 Intake???? Suggestions? What else do you guys recommend that I can do while I have it torn apart. Overall goal is to have a dependable badass truck that makes decent power that sounds and drives as good as it looks. Thanks! Quote
dcairns Posted June 9, 2020 Report Posted June 9, 2020 Well, you know what I am going to say ;D But a supercharger is a bit pricey. Aside from that, there is no replacement for displacement (although forced induction comes close ) Some people have bumped up the 6L (364ci) to 6.7L (408ci) This thread has a lot of responses on things people have done: Quote

The maintenance replacements you’ve done are exactly what I’m heading towards on my 2003. What brand did you replace the suspension with? How’s the stage 3 Cam? Quote
