  1. Ahhh....never realized you already had a set of heads installed. Converter was locked and it is a new 3000 Vigilante...could my heavy 33" tall tires reduce power that much? Also...by changing heads, what kind of horsepower could be expected with my mods? prestinb (Brandon)
  2. You are absolutely correct about the simplicity of the CAI...actually all CAIs are rather simple. The hard part is just sourcing the parts...hence the reason I just have them make me one while they were installing everything else. Thanks for the website...I will keep it for future endeavors. prestinb (Brandon)
  3. Finally received the final dyno results after the Tony Mamo ported Fast LSXRT Intake , NW102 TB, X-Link, Fast Fuel Rails, and Injectors were installed. While I think the increase is great...I am still not making the peak horsepower that ShadowSniper said that he made with just a 224 cam. What gives? My next step will definitely have to be heads. Any comments (good and bad) are welcome. I will post of the dyno run once I receive the video. prestinb (Brandon) BrandonP..pdf
  4. I just asked my installer to fabricate one...they said no problem and provided what you see in the pics. If you need their information just PM me and I can help you out. prestinb (Brandon)
  5. Latest Update: Truck is still in the shop getting additional goodies installed. Presently I am adding a Tony Mamo ported FAST LSXRT, FAST Fuel Rails, NW 102 TB, X-Link, 42lb injectors, and Custom 4.25" CAI. It has not been dyno tuned yet but my installer sent me a few photos as the install progressed. I will post up dyno numbers once I have them. prestinb (Brandon)
  6. Here is a thread I started right after installing my Boss 330 wheels...hope it helps. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/73819-34-djm-drop-w-wheel-and-tires/page__gopid__820917#entry820917 prestinb (Brandon)
  7. Personally I would do a 3/4... prestinb (Brandon)
  8. Update: Just found out that I will need a carrier bearing relocation kit for my 3/4 drop. I have a 2WD, torsion bars, and a 2-piece driveshaft and under WOT runs, I get a little driveline vibe. Has anyone installed one or have pointers on setting it up properly? Does anyone know the ideal angle? prestinb (Brandon)
  9. Yes...they are 330s. prestinb (Brandon)
  10. cfresh138, I was actually thinking there was more gap as well. After measuring the before and after, it really only lowered me approximately 2/3. I am using the top (farthest hole away on the brackets) holes in both the shackle and hanger...I then dialed in the torsion bars to sit even with the rears. I still have plenty of adjustment on the front to lower it but want it to sit level. It does seem that others with SSs sit lower after the same kit is installed. Is there a difference between VHO and SS? prestinb (Brandon)
  11. Martyw, It is a really nice kit...you will really enjoy it. prestinb (Brandon)
  12. Just wanted to post up a pic of my 2006 GMC 2WD VHO with a 3/4 DJM lowering kit and 22x9 Boss wheels with a +32mm offset running P305/45R22 (33") Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires. I finally got around to installing everything and thought it came out quite nice. My truck has the torsion bar front end even though it is a 2WD. Additionally, with my choice of wheel width, backspacing, and tire size...there is no rubbing. I prefer the ride quality so much better now that I did when it was stock. I feel in stock form it was like driving a cube of jello...if that makes any sense. Anyway, just thought I would post this since most people go with a smaller rolling diameter tire than stock and this is actually 1" taller. prestinb (Brandon) Before: After: Now with 5 / 7 -8" with Running Shoes
  13. Evand, Great info and thanks for the pictures! I am not complaining about the sound inside that cabin at all...the Corsa Sport exhaust has much less interior noise (including no drone) than my Magnaflow until I get on it. It then becomes a completely different exhaust note. I was considering changing mufflers simply to quiet the exhaust note outside...but the more I drive it, the more it makes me grin. WOT sings like nothing I have heard before...a friend of mine says it sounds like a Can-Am car. After I get my additional parts installed, I will post the dyno run video again so everyone can hear the difference between the two exhaust systems. prestinb (Brandon)
  14. Evand, Are you saying that the intake sound is much louder with the LSXRT? Also...speaking of loud...I just replaced my Magnaflow cat-back exhaust with a Corsa Sport cat-back. The Magna-flow muffler's weld rusted out and the back fell out that was connected to the tailpipe...I was under the impression they were 304SS...i guess not. Anyway, the Corsa stands up to the claim of not having any drone whatsoever...but it literally screams and carries very far. With my mods I may have to get the touring muffler...time will tell. prestinb (Brandon)
  15. Thanks Krambo! Based on looking at my dyno chart, does it look like the FAST LSXRT and NW TB will add more power (HP&TQ) under the curve throughout or is it just most likely only going to add power up high? This question is also based on the cam I have installed too... prestinb (Brandon)
  16. Shadowsniper3006, The injectors are often green but not sure if they are ford specific. Also, Modern Muscle has been doing my tuning and have been top notch. They are 4hrs away from me which is often a hassle logistically but worth it when I get my truck back
  17. Evand, The more I read every where the more confused or conflicting information I get. It is like chasing the rabbit down the hole. I know that I have a huge choke point with my stock intake manifold and TB so I am going with the setup listed a couple posts up. It might be more expensive and I might have been able to get close or better with TBSS intake, NNBS intake, or some other intake but I will never know unless I swapped each one out and dynoed it immediately. Thats never going to happen so it will be just fine for me and also look nice. Maybe next year when my funds are replenished...I will change heads but everything should still work together nicely. Thanks for the info and looking forward to hearing your progress... Please let me know how the harness works out for you too! prestinb (Brandon)
  18. Presently, I am running the K&N CAI but am going to have a custom one fabricated when I get the following items installed....shortly Fast 102mm LSXRT Intake NW 102mm TB Fast LSXRT Fuel Rail Kit Bosch Flow Matched 42# @ 3 bar injectors X-Link 2.1 Custom CAI Re-Tuned... prestinb (Brandon)
  19. Zippy or ShadowSniper? Any insight on my last 2 (and final) questions ? prestinb (Brandon)
  20. One more question...I think Do I need to have an aftermarket FPR when using an aftermarket fuel rail or is it just a best practice situation? prestinb (Brandon)
  21. ShadowSniper3006, Thanks for the info! What is everyone using for CAI once you switch to a 102mm NW TB? prestinb (Brandon)
  22. Thought I would post the video of the dyno run so it can be referenced with the dyno chart from post #1. prestinb (Brandon) CLICK ON PICTURE
  23. That is what I am looking for Also, please excuse my ignorance as I am still trying to educate myself on everything. If I use a FAST LSXRT 102mm intake and 102mm NW TB, do I need a X-Link 2.1? I have been reading on these and see that they are necessary to open the TB blade to 100%....will it only open ~85% without? prestinb (Brandon)
  24. Zippy, I have not been to the track with it yet...but will make a couple passes probably in the spring time once I get the engine complete...or is it ever complete??? Haha prestinb (Brandon)
  25. Nothing that you stated could every be taken the wrong way. Constructive criticism from others who have already "been there" is the reason why I am on this forum. If I already knew everything then there is no reason for me to be here I chose the cam out of recommendation based on my criteria of nasty sounding, drivability, and a non peaky cam that provides power throughout the RPM range. Is the LSXRT intake a 120mm? By using a .041 head gasket, would I be increasing compression? The truck was tuned using HP Tuners on a dyno. Thank you for all your input. prestinb (Brandon)
