  1. Sorry to hear that :banghead::banghead::banghead: .....Hope whatever you buy or build next makes you as happy as the SS did! :driving:

Well, my SS is no longer in my possession :shakehead: . Over laborday weekend a gentleman from Kansas City came up to me admiring my truck and saying how he'd been looking for an AWS SS that hadn't been ragged out. He then asked if I'd thought about selling it and I said I hadn't planned on selling it for a while. We talked some more and he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. He cut me a check for the truck and a lil extra for the parts I had laying in the garage planning to do the build in fall. I'll miss the truck...def the most fun vehicle I ever owned. I'm not sure what I am going to build now, I considered the TBSS but after I drove one it really wasn't for me. I think after that accident I had 2 years ago I was a lil scared of a fast SUV. I'm considering either building a Camaro SS to stay in the SS family or getting a Tahoe and going back to my audio builds for a while until we see if a new SS will be released anytime soon.
  2. Power steering gear located at the very bottom of the steering shaft is your problem. It makes the squealing noise when turned to the left and slightly when turned to the right. I had the dealership order me a new one and I am going to have it put on this Monday. There is a valve in there that sticks and causes that squealing noise that is REALLY ANNOYING!!

ive noticed that mine is kind of squeeling when i make a hard left....like its the pump.....need to get to the dealer...
  3. Well, looks like I will be getting a small amount of increase with my new P.O.S. I will try it and see how I come out. Maybe it will give me just enough boost to make me happy. (BUT I doubt it!) Thanks for all the help! :flag:

I agree that a custom tune is the best way to go........having owned a Hypertech, I can tell you that the Hypertech PPIII does work, but the gains are minimal as the tuning is mild and generic. Here are the settings I used to get the most out of my unit:

    93 Octane Tune

    50% shift firmness increase

    128mph top speed limiter

    Rev limiter 6000rpm

    Shift points-

    1-2 6000rpm

    2-3 5800rpm

    3-4 5600rpm

    :chevy:

  4. So your saying that Hypertech is selling a programmer that does not work..... correct?

I wish you would have brought this topic up before you purchased this. You get way more for your money with a custom tune and its considerably cheaper in most cases. As for settings I dunno you may try a search on here and see if anyone posted some???

    welcome to the site

  5. Hello everyone,

Just got me a new Power Programmer III from Hypertech for my 2005 Silverado SS AWD. My question is what are some recommendations for my new program. I have an aftermarket exhaust and intake so just was curious about my shift firmness and any other tweaks that would give me an exta 50hp or so. Thanks!! :driving:

  6. are they charging to have this done?

i have to bring my truck in for cruise control repairs tomorrow, and also looking to buy a new duramax.. but, i'll get this done as well if they aren't charging for the parts and installation.

$106.59 was the total cost for mine to be replaced. However, mine was under warranty so all I had to do was sign and drive! :driving:

  7. Hey all,

Just wanted to give a heads up for those who do not know that the replacement steering shaft for all of our CLUNKS has been issued. It came out in Feb. of this year and I have personally had it installed with great results!!! NO CLUNK! Yes, I know some already know this, but this is for those who do not.

    Hope this helps....

  8. :withstupid: I here trucks like that all day long, they think it gives them more power but they actually lose it and it does sound like :puke: I want to disable all the one I hear like that. Oh yea I know all them town cops (I work on their police and personal cars) and tell them they need to give em a ticket :D And there is always one that goes by my shop when one of them is here talking to me. Now I like a good sounding exhaust that is a little louder than stock but open pipes are for :yellow_loser:

    I agree!!! :withstupid:
