  1. 95+ Oldsmobile Aurora. For the money you won't get a more luxurious, fast, loaded ride on the planet.

Second choice, police interceptor. Loved both of them (actually just sold the interceptor about half and hour ago).

EDIT: Didn't see the end of your post... I don't know anything about SUV's.

  2. Thanks guys. I'll be replacing that asap.

To answer Mr P, yes it's all the time (straight and left turn) and stops completely when making a right turn.

I'm tech illiterate, is there a difference between a wheel bearing and wheel hub? Does it involve a CV joint? I've looked through my haynes but don't understand 100%.

  3. How are you bedding/breaking in the new pads/rotors? Sounds to me like the rotors/pads may be getting heat glazed from improper break in......

What's that do? Slick pad face?

Is there a proper way to break the pads in? Driving technique, mileage etc?

    Dan is the man...

  4. Here are the symptoms and hopefully good details.

I get a grinding feeling and sound (harsh hum/grind combo) coming from the driver front side. I've had the alignment checked (by Sears) and all wheels were well within parameters. However, I can see the tire is leaning top inward just by eye. My wheel is turned to 11 o'clock when driving straight and I hear the grinding, it's worse when I turn the truck left but gone (COMPLETELY; noise and vibrations just vanish) when I make a right turn or steer right.

A follow up question; could this also cause false ABS kick-ins (only during the last second or 5mph of a stop)?

Any help would be great as I'm going to buy the parts I need with my Federal tax returns.

    * I plan to change rotors, pads, wheel bearings and shocks. While I have it this far apart is there anything else that would be a good idea to replace? Any kind of bushings or stuff like that? I really want my handling back as I've lost alot of it this past year.

    Thanks guys,

    Jim.

  5. I guess its weird to me, no one seems to be complainin bout gas pricing anymore, are we just used to gettin taken everyday at the pump?

now i have one for all of you that know my truck... In Jersey, its against the law to pump your own gas... anyone see a problem with this?

Go to an american owned station and tell them you want to pump your own or watch them pump to make sure there's no spilling. I go to wawa and tell the kid at the pump to get away from it. :0)

  6. Hey man, I've been doing amateur web design since I was 16 so if you ever want a personal site and domain name let me know (free of charge of course).

I can't offer the hosting, but it's pretty cheap. I paid $120 for 2 years and that included 300gb of space and the dot com registration.

PM me if you are interested.

    :)

  7. Not worth jail-time so don't go too deep with the revenge. Remember that thieves also carry weapons and have the "thug" mentality... if you do get the best of them, it won't be over until they get back at you... just a thought. Call the cops and get 'em locked up if you find them. Sorry to hear it.

  8. Man, magicians must get Maaaaaad tail...

I need to learn me some magic tricks ugh ugh...

That was pretty cool. Have you ever seen the magician comedian (I forget his name). He has a trick where he asks someone to choose a card then throws the rest away and pulls out jumbo cards then tells them to put it anywhere int he deck and he'll find it... I almost peed myself. :)
