  1. i've got those stupid things, but i got mine with 92k miles on it so anything is possible
  2. that is you left outer tie-rod end. did you just recently have your truck serviced? prolly a little too much grease, just wipe with rag, should be fine, unless its broken, hard to really tell with the pic
  3. Been throwing the idea around a lot lately. Gas is going to hit 4 bucks a gallon before ya know it, and I have to use high test just like everyone else here, so its almost there. But anyway, I only live 8 miles from work. The top legal speed limit is 45 mph from my house to work. So I have been thinking of getting one of those gas scooters. I've never ridden a bike before and not sure i could afford one. I don't just want to jump in and buy the first scooter i see. I'm trying to do research, and i know a few people on here have some good knowhow on these things. Of course easy to maintain, reliable etc. I know i have to look at PA's laws and such but it seems if it is 50ccs or less i don't need a M license. My concern is I'm about 220lbs. That thing isn't gonna get me moving in any timely fashion. So I'm just looking for some input to point me in the right direction, I'd say about 1200 tops not sure i even want to go that high, but then again I don't really know much about these things. Thanks Ben
  4. I bought a keyless fob off ebay but can't get it to work. I can get the truck into program mode and such and do w/e it needs to, for the key fob that came with the truck but it wont do anything with the new one i bought. the battery is fine at 3 volts. i don't know what to do, i have been talking to the guy i bought it from and he isn't exactly sure either. the one i got off ebay looks exactly like the one i got with the truck, same numbers on the back and everything, it even says number 1 on the back. could this be the problem? i wouldn't think that would matter. any actual help appreciated. Ben

    Funny

lmao, one of the best jokes i have heard in a long time
  6. i take for granted that they lock their PCM's? so like Zippy wouldn't be able to tune it for an 03? cause if he could i would take it
  7. so no fix for your wipers? and no the hour meter
  8. one more quick question, i couldn't wait till tomorrow is the hour meter resettable? cause i was able to clear all the business trip crap and personal mileage but no matter how long i held the arrow the hour meter still stayed the same. it is around 3245 or something like that. is that one that never can go to zero, like is it a type of record?
  9. alright i'll look tomorrow when its not dark out. thanks for the quick responses. i figured thats what the little flap was for at the plate but had no idea where to look for the rod and crap
  10. lol well if that is all then i sure feel dumb, or maybe i confused it with something else? I'm not used to all this fancy stuff. I came from a 1990 Jeep cherokee. And the truck didn't come with an owners manual, so i have to figure everything out myself, which isn't going so well . Also I don't even know where he jack and crap are located. I see the spare tire but no idea how to get it out.
  11. i just picked up an 03 SSS yesterday and i filled it up and i can't get the dange miles since thing to reset. I pull it up and then press and hold the lower right hand button, the one with the arrow on it. it doesn't set it back to zero ? If anything it makes the number increase by one, like it says 232 miles well when i press and hold it goes to 233. And then it just stays there. I don't know what to think. Also with the wipers on sometimes they "stutter" only does it when on the intermit. Yes glass is wet, it was pooring outside. some specs 2003 Arrival Blue (fastest color) stock 91k miles anyone have any insight? i tried searching but could find anything for this in particular. and it seems my oil life is working it was at 61% yesterday and 60% today so i don't know. any actual help is appreciated
  12. not sure about the plugs but I didn't notice if anybody said about taking them out. If the heads are aluminum I highly suggest not to get it up to operating temp. because when you take the plugs out the threads are going to be expanded and if you try to put a new plug it it could actually strip the whole
  13. lol the guy smoking in the bathroom was pretty funny
  14. Thanks for the responses guys, called the insurance company. Turns out it doesn't matter whether my vehicle was locked or not, i can't lie just not in me, I don't have comprehension on it so nothing is covered. All well, guess I'll be hitting up the junkyards for cluster covers and looking to get a cheep radio. Hopefully soon I can get rid of this thing and get a SSS, but in reality that isn't gonna happen for a while if it does at all, but i can still dream and lurch around here. Ben
  15. yup as the title says. Well it was my daily driver, which is a 1990 Jeep Cherokee. Went to dinner after church with the parents at Texas Road House. Come out and notice my center console/armrest is not on straight, then look up and notice wires hanging, somebody stole my head unit! Wasn't anything too elaborate but my parents got it for me last year for x-mas, dad said it was like 300 brand new. Cracking and taking the dash cover with them. I guess thats what i get for trusting people. I never really lock it, guess it is partially my fault. I've never had this feeling before. Kinda feels like being taken advantage of. Called the cops and turned out up the highway some vehicle's window was smashed so i wasn't the only one hit. Guess i'll be calling the insurance people Monday. Funny thing is at church tonight the sermon was about how justice is coming and whatnot. And the pastor was talking about an incident when his family was robbed, never thought it would hit right at home. Well, thats off my chest, don't really feel any better. I just guess you can't trust anyone anymore. Ben
  16. it prolly just has to "relearn" itself. Not too uncommon with newer vehicles if the battery dies. Happens at work sometimes, just keep it running by playing with the gas and driving it, it should eventually work itself out.
  17. thanks for all of the open welcomes don't think I will be getty one any time soon, I'm not as well off with cash as most of the people on this board seem to be, now if someone wanted to give me an SS it would greatly be appreciated
  18. HI, my name is Ben Peters and I just love the Silverado SS, after driving one at work a couple months ago I just fell in love with it. Too bad I don't have the cash to get one, but everything happens for a reason I suppose. anyway i drive a1990 jeep cherokee as my daily driver. My toy is a 1972 Chevy nova. got it when i was 15 after working my but off with summer jobs to be able to save and buy it. Maybe one day i'll own a SSS, but helping out the family comes first. Seems like alot of the people on here are pretty fortunate with the cash!!!! But it doesn't seem like everyone is stuck up on themselves, which is pretty cool. well thats my little blurb. any questions just ask. p.s. o yeah I'm from Lancaster, PA ya know the Amish area....not to far from where the shooting took place a few months back Ben
