i was wondering if i can have some help with trany mods for 4L65E right now i have a zippy shift kit and a trany cooler not installed yet what els can i do besides a stall, shift kit and trany cooler im dont really know that much about tranys so thats why im asking for some help by the way what would be the best stall brand to go with was thinking about the yank thruster 278mm,2.21str 3000 rpm stall thanks for any info
-
I'm in Stephenville - no, leave it off. If you are worried about over-cooling you can block some of the cooler with a bit of cardboard or aluminum plate but I assure you it won't be needed. Run Dex-VI (synthetic) if possible and don't beat on it until the Dex-VI gets to at least 130-degrees, 150-160 is best IMO.
Mr. P.
thanks alot very good info

need some help where i live the the lowest temp we got here is about 20* do i need to get the bypass with the cooler or no thanks

I have the ZIppy kit and a Yank 2600.. I didnt run a tranny cooler until I got my maggie on. My temps even when beating on it at the track never exceeded 170-175 thats perfectly safe. Its really up to you.

i was thinking about getting myself the kooks and get them ceramic coated he said he dont care about the price but i heard that the belangers are the best for the 6.0 has the most power gains i dont know about the kooks power gain i just herd that they are bad ass headers
-
my buddy was asking me what kind of headers he sould get kooks or belanger if yall could give me some advice to relate to him it would be good thanks
-
Thanks. Sounds like the true cool is the most efficient so now to find the best price.
BTW, does it have a fan or not?
i dont think it comes with a fan not the ones ive seen

i think an intake is an intake all of them do the same thing get a custom tune

In Texas, I don't know. I can tell you that I was running 110 octane fuel and was seeing knock retard as well. I determined it to be false knock due to my exhaust so I just turned down the sensitivity of my sensors until the retard went away.
thats somthing i forgot to say he also turn down the sensitivity and still does it im thing its my exuast because we were out testing my truck then all of a sudden it went off and its been doing that for about 8 weeks now maby more cant remember and been doing alot of racing within that time
-
Empty the gas tank and for an experiment put 1/4-tank of very high octane racing fuel (like 110+) and if the knock goes away then yes it's the tune, if not then it's most likely faulty sensor or false knock.
Mr. P.
where can i get high octane fuel
-
i have got new exuast and check my knock retared an it went to an 8 but only at top end some time at low end im wondering if it could when i gun it and the exuast shakes aginst somthing could this be why

i would bend it away for clearence like MR P said. if you are talking about rubber hose, then i WOULD NOT USE it. headers/heat and rubber hose = FIRE..

-
IMO as long as you've got 3/8" clearance you're ok.
Mr. P.
its cutting it close but can cut and re route the line with a hose
-
i notice that my trany lines are rubing on my headers on the passenger side i bent the lines a little and it clears but barly has any body had this happen and if so what did yall do or what can i do to get more clearence from the headers
