  1. There is an interface available that will allow the use of steering wheel controls to the iPad. There is a video on YouTube that shows it. I'll see if I can find the product. I've never used it.
  2. A head unit is not needed however it makes it much easier. I used a head unit in mine.
  3. Almost forgot one cool thing. I can start the truck using the iPad too. My truck has Viper Smart Start and I've got the app on my iPhone and that iPad mini. It lets you start/stop the engine and lock/unlock doors. Not that I need to use it when I'm in the truck but it's a cool trick.
  4. Thank you for the compliments. A JVC head unit was used along with the proper harnesses and interface pieces. All the factory stuff still works like the steering wheel buttons, door chime and such. I've got a Phoenix Gold Titanium Series 5 channel amp hiding in the center console. The amp runs Morel speakers front and rear as well as a single 8" Kicker L7 hidden under the rear seat. The interior looks completely factory other than a tiny Morel badge on the front tweeters.
  5. Some of you may have seen this on the Facebook page. I figured I would share it here as well. This is my 2005 SSS with iPad mini installed. It's removable as I usually bring it in the house at night. The iPad mini is a live unit with AT&T data service which runs me about $15 a month. The iPad mini serves as my navigation using Google maps. It is also my music player via iTunes, Spotify, Pandora and iHeart Radio. It charges when docked in this kit. I've got a JVC head unit mounted down below which runs the show and can be used without the iPad. iPad removed... Please let me know if you all have questions. Feel free to check out more pics on the install shop Facebook page.... https://www.facebook.com/pages/ICON-Audio-Technologies/185489388139066
  6. The only one invited was Elvis. We got married in a small drive thru in Vegas. Very easy. We had such a good time with no stress. When does Justin come home? If things here are good and we have money I'd like to come visit.

  7. The Mexican version of me? I need to see that!

  8. Howdy... I was doing a job at MaxRPM in Bremerton last week. One of the employees there came out to comment on my SSS and shoot the shit. He mentioned that they were running the dyno for some members of the LS1truck.com forum. He asked if I wanted to run mine on the dyno. "You have an AWD dyno?" I asked.... Well, they don't but the RWD folks are welcome. Anyhow, I told the guy that I would get the word out and I would lve to have a group of SSS.com forum members to represent. Here are the details.... WHEN: Saturday May 15th WHERE: MaxRPM in Bremerton, WA. Here is a map... MaxRPM Map Link Here is a link to their site..... http://www.maxrpmmotorsports.com/index.htm I'm thinking we may meet at my shop in Gig Harbor an convoy out there as a group. Please let me know if you can come so I can get a headcount. -Travis
  9. Yeah, iSimple Media Gateway from Peripheral is the way to go. I know the guy that works at Gig Harbor Auto Works. Cost on that piece there is $136 shipped. Email him. [email protected]
  10. Hey, thank you to everyone for the input. Replacing the stepper servos are a great option rather than hunting for a new cluster. These servos (motors) seem to be an issue with our generation of full size Chev truck. The dude on ebay offers the updated part that claims not to have the same issue. $35 is what I paid for all the replacement stepper servos. I'll post pics of everything. We should maybe have this moved to a better location so that others can benefit.
  11. Otay, looks like I'll be replacing the stepper servos. How did you get the needles back in the correct placement? They have no notches or reference points that I can see.
  12. My speedo needle recently started bouncing and getting stuck. I need to replace the cluster. Anybody have a good one to sell? Thank you, -Travis
  13. Thanks Justin for posting this. The grand opening was much bigger than I expected. Our parking lot was a freakin mess!! A nice mess though. We are a mobile electronics installation shop. I've worked for a well known car audio retailer for 9 years and did not approve of the way the industry was going. I left in 2007 and started Gig Harbor Auto Works. Install focused, no sales people, no retail crap, only good product and experienced certified installers. We specialize in high end and custom cars but do almost everything else as well. Here are some more pics of the grand opening.....
  14. Hey, I got your carbon fiber fuse cover done last week. I've been showing it off.
  15. Let's get this going gals and fellas! I'm hoping for this coming weekend. Either the 26th or 27th.
  16. Sounds good. We need to make it happen soon before this nice weather is gone.
  17. Word. Up to you guys. I think that would be cool. You all can see Justin's tire graffiti on our street. Gig Harbor Auto Works 3509 B 57th St CT NW Gig Harbor, WA. 98335 www.gigharborautoworks.com
  18. ^^ Thanks Justin! The Peripheral kit is sold. Thank you Brad. Enjoy. I carry all of the iSimple kits on hand so if anyone needs something please shoot me a PM or email. [email protected]
  19. I'm down. Don't forget Justin, we can have a G2G here at the shop as well. We'll make our own XXX burgers. We'll call them uncald4 burgers! Ha ha! We'll need to stock the beer fridge though.
  20. Your radio must have a BAND button that sources through FM1, FM2, AM and then XM1 and XM2.
  21. First one to PM me with their email address wins. I'll send a PayPal invoice ASAP.
  22. This kit comes with a 5 foot iPod cable. You can run that cable wherever you'd like. I ran my cable into the pocket in front of my cup holder. In the picture below notice the iPod in that pocket plugged in. Don't mind the amp and other cables under the cup holder.
