  1. You might have a trans issue or the acual convertor. Check your vacuum line from the trans uo to the engine and make sure thats connected assuming you had other work done to the trans. I would also check your fluid level, color and smell. See if it has any silverish color to it, or smells burnt. If so thats not a good sign.

Do you have a larger tranms Cooler for the convertor?

  2. It was fully loaded with a bed cover. Only thing missing was a sunroof and onstar other than that everything was electric and so on, it had 81000 miles on it. And I had just boughten $100 worth of leds :( know how much its worth anyone?

With those LEDs if they were just installed you can take those out if its not a pain. Or leave them in and the other guys insurance will have to pay for those. Per what My lawyer has told me. make sure you get asll your reciepts for anything you just replaced on the truck within the last few months.

  3. With my truck being an 04 with 141,xxx on it and having every option available, there first offer was $14,775. But they added in my sales tax and license plates on top of that to total 15,800. They do that to have you think you are getting more than you are. Also the other guys insurance might tell you, you have 30 days form the date of the accidnet toaccept ther eoffer otherwise you forfeit the offer and you get what they give you. Thats BS. You have 5 years to accept a offer from them, they tried to use that to bully me so they could pay less and make you think you might get less than they origianlly offered you. Im actually only getting $14,775. The plates and tax dont go along with what my truck is worth. NADA says my truck is worth $16,500 with the trailing options and my bed cover.

You might have to fight for it. Since it wasnt your fault, anything you repaired on the truck or added should be paid for by the other guys insurance company as well since it wasnt your fault.

I would get a lawyer, its so much easier than hurting, having all the bills come in and you worrying on whats going to happen with your truck etc etc. I was going nuts and constanyl worried about this and that. A lawyer will do all this for you and get you what you deserve and what your truck is worth.

How many miles and what options did you have? I can check for you if you like on what NADA says its worth.

  4. I have my 2002 GSXR 1000 for sale. I have owned the bike since 2007, it was stock when I got it with 12,xxx miles on it. The bike was never dropped or in any type of accident. I would like to keep it but I rode it once last year, and need to replace my truck as it was just totaled. The bike has to go as a daily driver is more important.

Specs on the bike and add ons. 14,xxx Miles on it.

The bike was well maintained and cared for. The oil was changed at 2500 mile intervals during riding season, and every spring when the bike sat over winter with Golden spectro 10/40 synthetic oil. The chain was always lubricated every 2500 hundred miles as well.

The bike is in mint condition and needs nothing but a new owner. The bike was put together with the right parts and was done right. The title is clear.

$5,500 OBO No test rides unless you have what we agreed upon cash in hand, no exceptions.

  5. The best way to find out if the cam will work for what you want it to are to call the manufacturer of the cam. Tell them what you have done already and what you want the cam to do with your setup. They will give you the best cam choice that will give you gains where you want it. Alot of people choose cams based on how they make the motor sound. Just because it sounds good and choppy doesnt mean that cam will make the most power with your setup that you have.

  6. Grab some WD 40, and when the truck is off try and spray behind the pulley where the bearing is, and on the tensioner spring. Start the truck, if the squeek stops you know where its coming from. The noise will come back after a few seconds as the WD 40 wears off. Its an easy way of diagnosing it. You can even use it when the truck is running, just do one pulley or are at a time to help pinpoint where the noise is coming from.

  7. Since im going thru the same thing, The ladys insurance that hit me told me most all insurance companies use NADA to get the value of a vehicle. Make sure you put in your mileage as if its above a certain amount for that year they will deduct money from what your vehicle is worth.. For example.. I had 141,000 on my 04, they deducted 1,200 from me. that will atleast give you a idea of what its worth and what they will offer you.

  8. I knew the whole header retune for a/f thing, but what about stock manifolds with cat delete.

You still need to do the same thing. Anytime you remove a cat and or 02 sensors the computer sees there is an issue with fuel metering. You will throw a code and light. Your truck will run like crap and burn more or less fuel. Which isnt a great thing. The code you would most likley thro is a Fuel/ air metering, banck 1 and bank 2 running rich or lean, or a code for the cat. Just because you dumped out what ws falling aprt in the cat doesnt mean they can be reused. When they fall aprt they are garbage and will restrict flow. Mufflers wont do this.

  9. Im in the same boat man. I was rear ended two weeks ago in my 04 Sss. That was just totaled. You have more of a frame problem than I did. I was hit at 50 MPH. I have all types of crap wrong with me. Go to the ER, your going to hurt worse in the next few days. My concussion didnt show its sypmtoms for 4 days after the accident. The guys insurance in the ram will pay for all your medical bills, go and get checked out, everytime you feel worse. A word of advice. You have 2 years from the date of the accident to sign off on any injuries, its state law. The insurance will want to compinsate you within the first few weeks. Dont sign anything until your treatment is over and you dont have any re occuring injuries or issue before you sign off. Its a B.S game now with insurance. If you have any questions feel free to PM me and i will help you the best i can since Im going thru the same thing. Glad your ok,

Your not at fault for the the guy hiting you. You did get a ticket for hitting the guy in front of you? If not, then the person you hits insurance will try to come after your insurance for damages and injuries. Since you didnt get a ticket, you can still be at some percentage of fault. Say like your 40% and the guy behind you is 60% . I know its messed up but thats what the insurance companies do. I had that happen to me when it wasnt my fault.

Here is what my truck looked like.

  10. I feel bad for that trans. Thats a good way to blow it up. Its not meant to be put into 1st at 50MPH. Its meant for downgrades etc, its basically the same thing as engine braking in a Semi.

  11. That code is for a multiple cylinder misfire. Thats why your O2 sensors are fine. I would replace your plugs and wires. Make sure the spark plug gap is correct, even new plugs out of the box need to be gapped.

How did you clean the cats out? When they start making noise they are falling apart inside and are garbage.

  12. Here's the scoop. I can't afford to do everything I want in one summer, but I want to button up the drive train this summer and do all engine work (minus exhaust) next summer. Has anyone ever put a 2600-3200 stall in a factory truck with tans servo upgrades? Second question is, once I have the high stall in how does it affect highway cruising if any? I drive from the Twin Cities to Fargo or Sioux Falls on an almost weekly basis in the summer and don't want to put a stall in if highway cruising around 70mph is affected. My truck has the 4:11's so its around 2300rpm or so at 70mph now.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

Your Gas mileage will go to crap. Your RPM will be alot higher than that. Normally you put the stall in after motor work. otherwise its kinda pointless to have one with a stock motor. Not only that but your trans will go. The stockers dont last with decent modifications and HP. Honestly I would do full exhaust, intake, cam first. then beef up the tranny and then the stall and a larger trans cooler. if need be. Higher convertors will generate more heat build up and that is the number one killer of transmissions.
