  1. How to you go about removing the air duct screens in the front bumper. I looked at it and I dont want to break the plastic mounts.
  2. If you want to spend double you will at the Stealership. It wont affect what the truck is worth. If servicing your own car did affect the value of any car everyones cars woule be worth nothing. When I look to buy a car or truck, I dont care if they have reciepts from the delear or their own, As long as it is in good shape, the fluids were recently changed im happy. I look for myself to make sure the fluids were changed, or I have them changed before I buy it. Honestly, just because its the delaer doenst mean its going to be done right. When you do it you will make sure its done right.
  3. Heres a rundown of the issue. 2 years ago I replaced the original pads and rotors on my 04 SSS. I just went over all the brakes front to rea.r pads to rotors and only had to replace the rear pads. The brake pedal has been alot firmer in the past, after I replaced the rear pads, the pedal hasnt gotten better. The pedal will firm up when the truck is off and gets solid and wont move. Once I start the truck and pump the pedal, it doesnt get any firmer. I can actually push the brake pedal to the floor with some added pressure. Once the brake pedal travels about halfway down, it starts to squeek and doesnt stop until you either stop while moving, or when the truck is just idling when the pedal reaches the floor. I have no fluid loss, the truck does have brakes but only feels like 50 percent of what they should be. basically if I had to stop fast, it wouldnt happen. All the calipers are fine, no leaks, or split boots, none of the lines are softened. I was going to try and bleed the entire system and see if that helps. but I dont want to waste fluid if the master is bad. Im thinking it might be on its way out due to the low pedal. Any feedback or similar experiences woud be great.
  4. Im looking fro a mass Air flow sensor for my 04 SSS. I keep getting P0101 Maf or VAF CKT Range Performance code. No matter what it keeps coming back. If you have a MAF sensor that works properly let me know.

  7. I just had my driver side cladding re painted. When the body shop took it off, the whole top portion was held on by Double sided tape. The lower half is just a few screws ( If I remember right 4) at the bottom of the door, along with 2 or 4 push pins.
  8. It is normal. Mine does the same thing. I myself dont trust it, I only use it for a reference of when to fill up. To truely get your MPG, go off of what your trip says.
  9. Latley I have been having 2 issues with my 04 SSS. Everytime I try and put gas in it, the nozzle clicks and stops me from pumping. I hear a gurgling sound coming form the gas neck and have wait for that to stop to contiunue pumping. Then again the pump stops me. Here are the codes Im pulling. P0446 Evap Emissions Control System Vent Circuit Malfunction. I got underneath the truck, disconnected the hose that connects to the gas neck. Checked it for blockages, there were none. I put it back together. P0101 Maf or VAF CKT Range Performance. I removed the MAF and throttle body and cleaned them. The Maf was barely dirty. the throttle body was bad. Even after cleaning etc, I still get this code. Any help with either situation(preferrably the first one) would be great.
  10. Agreed. I didnt realize this until I posted after someone else mentioned it. Then I was told to just redo the rears as those are most likely the probem, as thats when the issue started. Or should i redo them all?
  11. Already went thru all the brake lines from the master back to the calipers. All is well. I think I have a little bit of air somewhere.
  12. A little info on the truck at hand. Its an 04 SS with 104,XXX miles on it. Last summer I replaced all 4 rotors and pads for the first time ( AT 99,000). The brakes have never been bled until today. The bleed screws had a little rust and were not that easy to loosen until they were worked back and forth while bleeding the brakes. The issue. I started at the driver side front, went to the passenger side front, then Pass. rear, and Driver rear. I went thru 2 32oz dot 3 bottles of brake fluid since Mine was black. Bled all 4 corners until it ran out 95% clear. The problem arised when I was at the driver rear. The pedal would firm up, I crack the bleeder open let it drain, close it and my Fiancee would pump the pedal up to go at it again. Everything was fine until the 3rd time or so. Then the pedal wouldnt firm up at all anymore. I finished up, pumped the pedal while the truck was off, pedal got nice and high and firm. Started the truck, pumped the pedal and it wont firm up. The pedal is worse now than it was before I started. I have to push almost all the way to the floor. My pedal goes down like 3/4's of the way before it really has alot of stopping power. The resovoir is full, the fluid is clean, All the bleed valves are closed, There are no leaks, and no air came out of the system while bleeding. What is the issue?? Thanks.

  15. Not sure if they can be changed, One went out before, and I pulled it out. It didnt look like there was anyway to change the bulbs inside. I looked on Ebay, I really dont want to spend $250 on a new one.

  17. I am looking to buy a steering wheel control button since the ligth went out in mine. I need the button on the left hand upper side of the steering wheel. I also need a instrument cluster. Let me know what you got.
  18. I heard today of this recall notice, but I never got one in the mail.... I purchased the truck brand new. I was told that if the truck is out of warranty (which mine is both factory and extended) that Im SOL? Is this true, or will the dealer still honor the fix since it is a recall?

  20. I have a 04 SS and the Tach has been acting up for the past few months. Basically it started when it started to get cold outside(below 20). The tach would either stick at 1K 2K 3 K, until the truck was at operating temp for awhile. Tehn the the tach would slowly start to work, but would wouldnt sit at 800 RPMS. It would continuee to sit at say 2k and then move from there. Another instance it would sit at 0 and would move, then when stopped in gear it would go back to 0. Other guages like Volts and Oil pressure would also do the same thing. The trans temp, gas guage, speedo work fine. What can I look for to fix this?
