  1. Ohh, sorry I must of missed somthing in your post I thought you were asking how the high stall was, Yeh, I like mine too. some of these post are so close you get kinda mixed up, LOL Anyway, yesterday, 12/28/2007, after I replied about the truck feeling faster, I used my G-Tech to see what was really going on. (*I am not saying G-tech's are accurate, but I do use mine for a basline for tunning and modification and it is fairly accurate for comparison, IMO) So, Per the G-tech, my truck ran a 13.37 in the 1/4 @ 102.2, and 0-60 in 4.68 w/ tire spin. My stock Vortech Blown set-up, Ran, 13.89 in the 1/4 @ 102. and 0-60 in 5.20 w/o tire spin. So, yeh it is definately faster. ( note: the stock set-up did not have a high stall )
  2. Hopefully that tech that made sure to note your "JUICE", got an extra cookie, or at least a gold star! LOL With the Magnuson Moss Warrenty Act. your truck is Legally covered, unless it can be proved the aftermarket product caused it."Make there life suck, jus cause you can." Exteneded warrenty company's are, Evil, Evil People! lol ~Danny
  3. It would be nice if you had another vehicle to buy you some more time to re-search this engine build, But, I can give you my set-up and Opinion wich may be helpful? I'm running a 408ci, with CNC ported LS6 heads, (243'),(Z06 heads) and a 2002 z06 cam.and 42 lbs injectors. *heads are about $900 per head I am at 9:1 compression, cause I usually run a blower, (wich I am not running currently) this head and cam combo Idle sweet, drives fine and has Tones of power! My truck feels way faster non-supercharged 408 w/low compression, then the stock Lq9 with vortech blower. BTW, I have a TCI 3000rpm stall, and I think it is a bit big for a DD, especially if you lived in a big city! (IMO) you have to use both brake and gas, and pepper the throttle to get it movin slow,(tight parking spot will drive ya nut's, LOL any way, here are some Dyno #s per SA Desings.: 6.0 liter, 10.362:1 Compression, Shorty headers, stock air cleaner housing,w/water pump, no Alternator or power steering, LS6 Heads and Cam, 94 octane fuel. 401hp @ 5700 rpm. 407ftlbs @ 4600 rpm. the heads are pretty impressive from everthing I have read, May be worth lookin into? ~Danny
  4. Just a note: When my Supercharged SS, did what your's did, I had piston chunks all the way up to the throttle body. I would say if it is on top off your valves it is prolly in your blower? Did you pull it off and shake it, turn it over by hand? hear or feal anything? BTW: I returned my truck to stock and tried to claim warrenty. first denied because it was "abuse" they said. ( Over rev, flooring it, etc.) the best quote was, and I swear to god on this, I couldn't make it up! "You have been Jumping this truck!" I honselty have never jumped my lowered all wheel drive truck, LOL they said cause both front axle's were twisted that was the only way that could happen. Any Way I pushed the Issue on the Motor, and they sent out and adjuster and he took pics of my Vacuum line for my boost guage that I left under the dash zip tied out of the way, and the In-Line Booster fuel pump that I left installed. Then the new reason was "Vehicle not at factory spec".The worst part was I had to pay $1300 for Diagnosis to get my truck back still blowed the F up! So, be thurow, stick to your story and Good Luck! ~Danny
  5. .030 is what your lookin for! Need to know more about what you want the truck to do for you, to determine what parts you would need. JE offer's flat top and -29 dish.
  6. What was the outside temp? Just curiouse? I'm thinking these blower companies dont do alot of R&D in cold Climate. My truck Gernaded the #7 cylinder with a Vortech's kit. Vortech's tune. completely stock motor, not even a CAI.? My truck Has more miles on a Roll back, then on the truck. BTW, the warenty claim was denied, and vortech was absolutely no help after my claim denial.(They do not back there product) ~Danny
  7. KJT13 You are a warm weather Guy? LOL -32 degrees F, ambeint here to today -50 with the windchill. lol ~Danny
  8. hmmmm. I have the same shackles on my truck, part #6400. my ride height in the rear was the same on both side's and the fuel tank does not really have an effect on my ride height. Maybe measure the shackle's to be sure, check that they are laying @ same angle? Hopefully your into Big Girl's so that way when your rolling your ride will sit level! Intsall 250+ Chick Right front. lol ~Danny

    Idiot

He is more of a man then me! I can only last about 10 seconds before the smoke overwhelms me! Because it Can! And to Say it Did! ~Danny
  10. Tyler- I have been in contact with you though P.M,. But I think I have the million dollar question here. what I wanted to know about was: when you pull the light apart, everything that is not Chrome, I wanted color matched. then the clear lens re-installed. IE: C6 corvette, ferrarie Modeno. Is this possible? What about the seal on the light's? any issues with condensation? ~Thank You Danny
  11. Jus heat up the new pully and push it on by hand, make sure it goes on all the way.you could even have somebody hold Ice on the blower shaft while you heat the pully. Let me know how it works out! I switched for 3.3 down to a 2.8, You?
  12. Stroked I got you covered! Heat the pully up with a propane torch and it will slip off very easy! I was amazed myself how effective it was. I called Vortech when I swapped my pully, and that is how vortech reccomend's the change out. ~Danny

    Need A Book!

Thank's For all the input guys! I bought Engine Management by Greg Banish per your reccomendations, and I also purchased an EFI book from SA Designs. We will see how it goes. I'm excited! Also Have been picking up good info off of HPTuners, efe live, ls1 tech forums. Maybe We will update this thread as a few of us finish these book's, with a reveiw of sorts? ~Thank's Danny
  14. Welcome! Dig the color, I am going to put the VaraRam on my truck too. ( Ive got about 15,000 into mods and still am running a stock airbox,LOL) BTW, that bug deflecor looks like it will obstruct your VaraRam? Maybe not? Welcome! ~Dan
  15. Update: So,... The deal we ended up making was: I R&I the engine, pay for the head gasket's and the piston and rings. They Refunded me $436, for the original balance, they tore down my long block, dissassymble the heads and checked them (found one warped Valve I guess, and repaired it.) Installed new cam and rod bearing and all new gaskets. Installed a new sleeve, using the step sleve design. ( IF any one ever get's a sleeve definatelly only get a step sleeve!). I followed Mr.P's Advice and Backed the truck out of the garage all the way to jus behind the cab, and Used a Bar to hold the tranny above the tosion bars, (wich worked sweet by the way.) I got a little cold, but definately worked quicker, Got to Love Alaska! Well the Engine is in and running! I am going to run it N/A for now, till I get my Victor Jr. on! Still working on the programming for the 408ci, N/A. fouling plugs pretty good, got about 50mi on her now. BTW. I Installed a TCI 3000 stall while the engine was out, and HOLY CRAP! I definately think the truck is faster N/A now then it was S/C before without the stall. Last night I did My first ever AWD Burnout! dry pavement too. ( Nothing Like Chase, No smoke) but definately squeeled them a good 10ft!
  16. Hey, U probably need a new belt anyway now, cause belt dressing deteriorates rubber, LOL (yeh the stuff is not good). So a belt might not be a bad way to start. when the truck is running and you spray the belt with some kind of lube, i.e, belt dressing, wd-40, windex , etc..., And the noise goes away, it is the belt. I have been doing this profesionally for over 5 years and that methode hasn't bit me once,( as far as come backs). <<<<< ( all IMO though). ~Thank's Dan
  17. LOL, No My dumba$$ hit it with a rock. : I was with my buddy's and we were seeing how far we could throw rock's and I hit a telephone Poll dead on and the rock came right back at us! Wish I could of caught it! Thats why in High School I built engines in Auto Shop, and didn't play sports! ~Dan
  18. well, hmmm. this is what the bullitan states: U can check it out anyway: The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. <A href="http://service.gm.com/servlets/BlobShtml?ShtmlFile=1993197&psdid=437&evc=sm#ss1-1993197"> Condition/Concern: ABS light on speedometer may be erratic. DTC C0055 C0235 C0236 or C0237 stored in the EBCM. This concern may be intermittent and not easily reproduced. <A href="http://service.gm.com/servlets/BlobShtml?ShtmlFile=1993197&psdid=437&evc=sm#ss2-1993197"> Recommendation/Instructions: Using the Tech 2, check the EBCM, ECM/ PCM and/or TCM for any speed sensor related DTCs. These DTCs will need to be diagnosed first. Follow published diagnostics for related DTCs, repair and evaluate the vehicle after repairs are complete. If no DTCs exist in any other module, inspect the rear VSS sensor circuit(s) from the rear VSS sensor to the related module (ECM, PCM or TCM) for integrity. These circuits are 821 and 822 or 400 and 401 depending on model and model year (use SI to locate the schematic that applies to your application). Repair or restring these two circuits as needed. Evaluate the vehicle. Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
  19. Chase, did you switch tire before going to the track? There is a bullitan on co237 and bad harness being the fault. I dont think that is your problem due to the c0238 code you have as well.(IMO) the 237 code is just basically a report of the 238. C0237 is the EBCM reporting an erratic WSS. Your 238 is the EBCM reporting a 10% greater or less then difference in wheel speed. MY thought, If you ran your 18's both your EBCM and your PCM need to know that. Otherwise that could be the difference. Or one really low tire. Should be 2 in the front . t-case is a vss, dont think it should pertain? could be wrong, lol I would check those connections and spin your wheels verify an A/c Signal. ~Danny
  20. Sweet I am first Relpy!, Welcome, Blower is alway's a fair bet and smog legal. Defenitally search the forum before purchasing any aftermarket products, could save you money and headaches down the road! ~Danny

(circa 2001 ). my bro posted it on You tube. P&S the sad part is my daily driver will beat my Old hot rod! Thank's Danny, Let me know what ya think! LOL

    Need A Book!

Hey, I am trying to find a good book on computerized engine tunning. If any one can recommend a book they use/read to help them understand tunning a little better that would be great. I have HPTuners and Zippy has done some tunning for me, but I just want to get a better understanding of whats going on. Thank's Danny
