Front Differential Whine Help!
ChevelleBoy replied to MARTYW's topic in AWD, Differential, & Transmission Tech
I've got about 83K on mine and I just started hearing what sounds more like a loud persistent squeak. Have not heard any grinding our growl type sounds like other threads have described, but more of the whine / squeak. Sometimes it does not start until I get above 25 mph. When I jack it up and rotate wheels, there is no looseness or noise or clunking sounds - everything sounds fine. But at speed the right front sounds almost like a brake squeak on steroids. Does this description sound familiar to you guys? Any new advice from those who have dealt with this issue? -
Bose 6 Disc Not Working...anyone Else Had This Problem
ChevelleBoy replied to shane20's topic in Radio/Electronics/Security
Finally bought another unit off ebay and put the working cd changer unit out of the head unit I bought into my original radio and I'm back in business. A small white plastic gear came falling out of my old cd changer unit when I took it out - figure that was the problem. Trading out just he CD changer unit kept me from having to deal with getting the VIN code reprogrammed for a new radio. -

Does anyone know of a source for just the 6-cd player/changer that is installed inside the whole head unit? I think this is the problem and not the whole radio/head unit. -

Same issue for me, did you find a fix or solution? -
Thanks for all the suggestions, support and laughs! I went to a dealer a couple towns over ( took a while to find one open on Saturday) and they cut the key on the VIN#. Had to show picture ID, proof of ownership of some sort (insurance papers) and give them the license plate #. It cost $35 - $25 to look the code up in the database and about $10 for the key. They actually gave me two keys because they were not sure which blank to use, but both worked, so that was a bonus. I had no idea that could be done until one or more of you here suggested it. Thanks!

That's a good idea, I may call them in the AM. Anyone else have any creative ideas?

I wish is was that easy. My truck did not come with Onstar.

HELP! Got home a bit ago and before I knew it my 5 year old had locked the keys in the Truck (03 SS). Wife is out of town with the other set of keys. Short of calling a locksmith ( and having them scratch up my doors ), does anyone know a safe harmless way to break into my truck? Open to suggestions and a bit desperate. Thanks in advance!

Hey Lee, I've done that several times myself, glad I'm not the only one.

Did I miss something or is #5243 a wild guess? Did anyone get an answer on the sequence?
