My New Truck - Suggestions As Far As Appearance Goes?
evallejo replied to postal07's topic in VHO/V-Max General
22s at least. More drop would be nice. Black tails with black rims maybe? A shaved tailgate and a roll pan would clean up the rear nicely, and I agree to color match the plastics. Some billet would bring some shine to the front though. and the antenna delete if you don't mind a bit of loss in reception(It's cheap and easy and cleans it up nicely). -
That thing is ridicuosly retarded but would be FUN! ...Yeah right.

Have you tried stylintrucks.com? They carry the 5piece billet (as well as the street scene speed grilles).

As far as bolt-ons, the warranty should still be fully honored as long as its supposed to be under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Unless the warranty directly stated that a performance bolt-on voids the warranty, you should be covered to full extent. But, if your vehicle's failure is directly attributed to something you added(i.e. performance tuned pcm tearing up the transmission that was warranted for 3 years), then it can be voided. Basically anything that just bolts on cannot void your warranty, so no your mods(PCM excluded) are not grounds for a voided warranty. If you type in Magnuson-Moss warranty Act in a search engine you can get more specific info(or just mention those words to your dealer...).

I agree with CoolBlue, if you don't like math or you just have a hard time with it, engineering may not be for you. I am currently trying to earn my degree in mechanical engineering and the math is not fun. If you can learn it quick then take a couple of review math courses(I recommend trig and some level of algebra) before you dive into the hard ones(calculus). Whatever you decide to do just stick it out and do your best because it is well worth it in the long run. Good luck.

$3.25 Premium here in my town, a bit cheaper in Lubbock (TX) when I filled up yesterday for about $65.00

I had a similar problem with the subs in my silverado (2 RF 12s and a Kenwood amp) when I reinstalled it. I took them out bc I was going to trade it in for a new body Silverado, but prior to that, I blew one sub. I took out the blown speaker but left the wires to the speaker connected. I changed my mind to keep my 05 and after hooking everything back up, I would get power but no bump just a bit of shaking. Turns out the wires that were left from the removed speaker were touching (the - and + wires that go the sub), so I separated them and my problem was solved. It don't know if this will solve your problem but if you say you got power to the amp, you should check the signal feeding to your amp(RCA cables from head unit). Also, your speakers could be out of phase, make sure the phase setting on your amp is in the regular position rather than the inverted position, and also make sure that the (-) from the amp goes to the (-) on the speaker, and the same for the (+). Kinda long but hope it helps.

You know...I've got the same problem with my '05 Silverado(yeah, I know-not an ss), but I haven't been able to fix it. Mine actually "stutters" on the way up.
